Funny how all of a sudden we don't want to be like Charlton any more but to be like Bolton or 'Boro.
Last season it was all about building in the way Charlton have and yet now.........
I wonder why.

Watching Reading when they were really shit helped me with my life-long clinical depression. Now life is full of laughter, fun and love and pessimism is a thing of the past. So thanks Reading Football Club, for realigning my brain chemicals. What was once life-long clinical depression is now something that was life-long but is now just an episode in the distant past. I had thought that seeking out a club of such reduced stature was a reflection of my own self-esteem during those years of Elm Park obscurity. I now see it as a greater part of a spiritual plan and the Madejski Stadium's cantilever supports as markers of euphoria pointing fingers towards heaven.

VOR
John Peel It's amazing how negative people have been this season.

What ARE you talking about? Everybody I know is still on Cloud Nine - both recent converts and old farts like me who can remember the grim days of the early '70's. We are not yet safe but if we can:
a) avoid too many injuries
b) bring in a few of the right sort in the right positions in January
c) prevent an exodus of our key players

we will be. Who wouldn't have settled for that in August?

not everyone is on cloud nine, i've seen plenty of people on here who can't wait for something to moan about. as soon as we have a slightly bad result all the old i told you we were going to be rubbish brigade come crawling out of the woodwork.

Fully paid up member of the Society of Pessimists formed 1871. Given the history of this club it is easier, nay safer to expect the worst; Wembley '95, Millennium Stadium '01. Today's collapse was right out of the Coventry at home form book! I am going to Pets @ Home to buy a cat that I can kick 8).

See you next week, fellow inmates - Broadmoor may be ten miles or so down the road but even the nutcases there wouldn't subject themselves to following Reading FC! As someone once sang, Mama told me there'd be days like these and I daresay I'll see plenty in the future as well! Well, there's two ways to deal with the traditional Reading collapse TM - sulk about it or get absolutely plastered.

OMG, I am soooo pi$$ed off with the negativity on this board.

We lost yesterday. It was not our finest achievement, but people are saying that Seol has no passion, Lita is lazy, Long is lightweight etc etc.

A month ago we were saying that Soel has been an excellent signing, that the whole team were a close knit unit and we didn't need any prima donna's etc.

How fickle are we?

I've looked at the Premiership table and we will be in the top half of the table on xmas day, in our first season in the premiership.
Grab a drink, celebrate the success of our club and accept that WE WILL LOSE SOME GAMES THIS YEAR AND PLAYERS WILL HAVE BAD GAMES.

Have we inherited fans from last season who think that RFC should win week after week, and if they are not winning they are not worthy of our support? Get a fookin life you sad gits.

Rant over

Pessimism on this board may be a bit more justifiable if you look deeper than just the Blackburn game. We got rolled over by Newcastle after leading, were total crap at Watford and in the second half against Blackburn. If we continue playing in the same way we will lose against Everton, a difficult team to beat. We can't expect any points from Chelsea or Man Utd and that brings us to West Ham. Will Curbishley have turned them round? If so, they will up ror revenge for their home defeat. Suppose this game were lost - we would be 22 games for 26 points, in the bottom half and having got 1 point from 7 games. The sort of run that sucked West Ham into trouble.

Now, I'm not saying that these results WILL happen. What I am saying is that the team have got to get back into the groove of a few weeks ago to avoid a slump. Huge improvement is needed. We know how good we CAN be - the team have got to show that they can reproduce this.
