RFC - outstanding payment

by bobby1413 » 29 Jan 2007 13:27

Received this lovely email from RFC:

=================================================
On checking your account we have found that there is an outstanding payment of £90.83 for month 4. Could you contact the Sales Centre on 0870 999 1871 where one of our Sales Agents will be happy to assist you. Alternatively you can email your credit card details to me and I will process the payment for you.
=================================================

Excellent. Just as my bank account is about to crumble. This is the second time this has happened. With the chelsea away ticket, they reverted to my old card details for some random reasons, and again, they have messed this up.

Two observations:

It might have been nice if they had given you a name and direct dial number.

I doubt your bank will be happy if you start emailing your credit card details to people!

Well, to be fair, there was the person's name at the bottom who sent it. But there was no direct number. So I'll have to wait (i don't know?) an hour maybe? for the privilege of paying £90 which they fecked up.

My thoughts exactly about the bank details. Shall I provide them with a pin number too?

I'm replying to this email asking for evidence/proof to be sent ot my home address.

A few reasons:

1. I'm oxf*rd off with their mistakes
2. I don't trust them as every time I check my bank account there are transactions from them for "5.44" and "84.33" and "23.33", very random payments.
3. Just to see if they will refuse it.

I would reply:

"I am glad that you think my debt is outstanding - considering I know I shouldn't have it I think it is pretty good myself. Having given my debt a warm round of applause I consider the matter closed. Should you still have a problem please contact me on......................."

I wish I had said something like that.

Well I replied thus:
====================================================
Would you mind forwarding the documents to my home address, showing the payment history and the payment that is currently outstanding. Also, why was this money not debited from my account like it has been since August?
====================================================

Still can't believe how cheeky it is to say: "Phone us on a national rate number, wait in the queue for about 45 minuites, then pay us £90 which was supposed to be took in October - but we messed it up. Or you can always forward your bank details over an unsecured internet connection. Oh, I honestly do work for RFC - trust me"

Yes she does, Customer Services Manager.

You're thinking of Shona Savage, who was Sales Centre Manager and who left.
