Excellent news. While others will have doubts, at the price we've paid then it's a good signing and a positive step.

Let us hope that he doesn't suffer post loanee contract signing illness and his workrate, concentration and ability continue to improve

For that price, clearly a good signing.

I'm slightly surprised it was only 3 and not 4 years. At 22, he's still very young compared to Sonko and Inga but if he earns his place, he'll have his contract sorted quickly enough.

Great business and would get the nod over Duberry in my side.

Whilst lesser managers waste club funds spending fortunes on the likes of injury prone Mat Upson, in what is likely to be a futile attempt to stave off relegation, Coppell builds for the future; signing a young player who is already good enough to play in the first team and for a fraction of the cost..................I'm so glad Pardew left us :P

Pat Butchers Ring Personally, i think he isnt good enough but would like nothing more than to be proved wrong.
People say he could be another Sonko but I think his positioning is poor, he lacks pace and is poor on the ball.

Did you not see the FA Cup game vs Man Utd at the MadStad??
2nd half: Rooney breaks clear of the Reading defence and runs into the area on his own.... Bikey runs after him, catches him, pushes him wide and then steals the ball from him and walks away with it like Rooney was a 10-year old. That showed pure quality and composure at a time when Man Utd could have put the game to bed.

I think Bikey is a quality signing and certainly one for the future. Even Alan Hansen talked highly of him!

Got potential and is good as cover, needs to learn though. Can't really go wrong for 1million in this day and age. Geneally pleased.

good news ... If he keeps getting better we could have two centerbacks with the same ability as Sonko... All in all we now have 4 strong center backs... makes a change from last season where we only really had 2

Coppell wouldn't of wasted 1 million on a player he can't develop and polish up. Although my heart stops when the balls at his feet, I had that same feeling when the ball was at Sonko's feet two.

Great signing, gets better every time I see him and his passing is already far better than Sonkos. Like a couple of others have said though, still think his best postion may be holding midfielder but we'll have to wait and see.

He's creepy and he's cooky,
Mysterious and spooky,
He'll break you like a cookie,
The Andre Bikey Show.
Derdler derr......

*ahem*

Sorry ofr that last bit.

Seems to be a bit of a D&G fashion victim though.

You know, if you could do something about the "andré bikey show" line to make it fit better, that's a great song for him. and original.

He could have worn a shirt and tie for it!!

Another good piece of work from Hammond, he's only going to get better and while I don't think he'll be a first choice player for Reading, you'll not get a better squad player for £1m and relatively small wages.

The Andre Bikey Show bit works (same syllables and rhythem as the original) the dodgy bit is the reference to a 'cookie' which neither rhymes or makes sense !!!
