Personally, I thought the best player on the pitch last night was Kalou. Totally underwhelmed by Malouda.

Had to convince my mates at HT that Malouda was actually on the pitch.

I actually sat up in shock when Lampard took a corner near the end of the first half: I hadn't realised he was playing until that point.

I certainly noticed him in the 47th minute, though. Bugger.

Missed the teams eing read out and asked the guy next to me just before HT 'Why isn't Lampard playing' before him pointing out their number 8

Looks like our manic haired pocket dynamo deservedly gets the nobbers gong.Possibly Oysters best showing in the hoops in second with Ivar the reliable also getting onto the nobbers podium.

He was actually at fault for being drawn out of position for the Lampard goal for a header he was never going to win and was ball watching for Drogba's - other than that I thought he played very well.

I voted Ingi as I thought he was very good last night.

Oster (whom I dislike almost as much as Seol) - was excellent last night - his best game for Reading IMHO.

I think you will find that although Bikey was drawn out for a header it was actually Cisse at fault for not tracking back with Lampard.

I would say both contributed their parts - although Murts was clearly pointing the finger at Cissé.

I'm not going to buck the trend in pronouncing Hunty my MOTM, but I do strongly disagree with others who rated Oster's performance.

I also think (not wishing to be controversial) that Cisse performance was OK and showed promise even if he was at fault for the goal.

I voted Hunt, but I must admit harper's performance made me think Mourinho maybe got the wrong central midfielder

Hunty was great throughout. Nice nutmeg on Sidders! Johnny O played really well first half and deserves another chance against Everton on Saturday. He should have scored last night though... :x

Oster gave Cashley the runaround in the first half, probably his best performance in the blue and white hoops. Drifted off in the second half, and despite looking positive going forward in the typical Oster way, he started to get muscled off the ball all too easily by the attacking stewards sporting Chelsea badges.

Ivar and Bikey were absolutely immense at the back. Cool under pressure and handled the attacking threat of the burly Drogba all game. Cisse, before his red card, looked a class act in midfield, and kept Sidwell & Lampard quiet for the first half. He looks promising in the midfield and I can see how he was likened to Makelele. (Or was that Emerse Fae?)

To be fair to Oster, all the shape and method went out of the team in the second half. He can hardly be singled out for his performance dropping after 45, although no question it did.

Although I voted for Hunt, you have to say Ivar is frickin brilliant over and over again, and always our most consistent performer over 90 minutes. He reckons he gets stronger and better every year and long may it continue.

Oh yeah, I've read a few grumbles about Murty, but surely it's no coincidence Malouda had his first quiet game after looking really awesome against Man U and Birmingham.
