I would say that the decision weather to include Kitson in his squad was one of the tougher ones he was going to have to make, and was made much easier due to the fact he didn't play last night because of injury. If he recovers quickly and gets his head down, continues to play the way he has been, scores on the strike rate that he has been already, then I expect him (fitness depending) to be in the next squad.

Shorey has been playing well recently (since no move was clearly on the cards) and I thought from what I saw on Football First last night played very well and deserves to be Englands 3rd choice left-back.

Kitson to get England opportunity?

by namroyal » 03 Feb 2008 18:21

Agbonlahor was injured in today's game vs Fulham...and is rated as highly doubtful for Wednesday. Does anyone know if Cappello could still call up Kitson to bring him back up to 4 strikers?

Defoe will get that spot, imo.

The last thing RFC need now is Kitson being given a call up. At best it will be an unwanted distraction/diversion, at worse he will pick up an injury.

Surely it would give both him and the squad a lift?
He's more likely to get injured when training or driving his car.................or rushing to catch a bus.
