if not there should be. let's hope we go after the best players from the relegated clubs and bring in some proven Premiership quality.

You are Roy Keane AICMFP.

But good call. I'd be over the moon if we brought him here!

Bullard would be a tremendous signing - in todays papers that both Villa and Boro are already sniffing with £4m bids in the summer should Fulham go through the trap door - would make a great partnership with Marek

He'd improve the squad no end.

So no, we won't be buying him.

he would control the midfield just like siddy used to do, would be a great addition to the squad

but that would mean harper or matejovsky losing there place, i dont think coppell has it in him to axe harps

For a start, Harps doesn't deserve to lose his place!

Doesnt deserve to lose his place based on ??? When he's on his game -no he doesnt, but far too often he isnt - think the word is "consistency" - and if I were given the choice between Bullard and Harper, then for me Harper would be on bench.

We also need another dead ball specialist - too much pressure on Shorey all the time to deliver and apart from him no one can - if you saw Bullards 2 free kicks recently you will see why he is a wanted player

Yeah I remember that, that'll be what the WHOLE team have been missing this season then.

Harps covers so much of the pitch when he plays. We'd be hard pressed to find a midfielder better than him, especially on a peanut budget.

Being able to run and cover every square inch of the pitch does not make you a necessary component of a team - the same attribute could be said for Andy Hughes! I rest my case

...and to carry on the discussion for you "Coppelled Streets", it would be Harper over Bullard any time?

Would that be the Hughes that was an essential part of our team for about 3 or 4 seasons or some other Hughes who has never played for us?

Cant remember any Hughes being an "essential" part of our team for 3 or 4 seasons - can remember a Hughes being a regular player - lot of difference in the two though!

Interesting isn't it, how half witted fans can be so critical of a player (Andy Hughes) who has been able to command a good transfer fee, and is now capt of a team that started on -15 points and is pressing for automatic promotion.

Oh, and James Harper offers a hell of a lot more than just his energy and pitch coverage; that is but one part of his portfolio. It takes more than half a brain to be able to see that though.

I think he is a great player but doesnt look like a ballwinner. If we signed him we would still need to sign someone to replace Sidwell.

He is doing okay at Leeds because League 1 is his level - and good luck to him, nothing wrong with that.

He certainly was in 02-03 but perhaps stayed here beyond his best before date.

Hughes, in spite of his clear deficiencies, was a key player in that play-off side.
