I think the BBCRB reporter quoted Shane Long as having scored twice, in addition to Holloway's goal. That mus be where the confusion over 9 or 10 arose.
A satisfactory scoreline, but pretty meaningless I suppose.
Nice to hear that the team haven't completely forgotten how to play in the past couple of months though.

strap
Alan Partridge Always good to get back into the habit of going to games again. Also this fixture is good as it's a first look at our new signings....

This pre-season last year we were playing River Plate of Argentina in a multi-national tournament. Now we're back to playing nth tier non-league oppos with our only "new signing" being a fan who paid for the honour of turning out for RFC.

WTF is going on? Mickey mouse club, run by Mickey mouse men? Mr Ego you have a lot to answer for and shouold be asking some fundamental questions of yourself and staff. Bet your bot is squeaking now you realise you're going to struggle to get your £40M loan repaid. (Of course, the Sky money has probably paid most of this back anyway - least I hope it has, because it certaily wasn't spent on the footballing side of things). Maybe you just feel a darn sight more comfortable being a big fish in a small pool. Fair play if that's the case, but if so, you have a duty to be honest with the fans and ensure that our expectations are realistically managed.

Welcome to the least anticipated season of 40 years of supporting, (or perhaps for the pedants that should read "following"), RFC.

You are truly unbelievable.

He's like the mad american christian that stands on his soap box in the centre of cambridge and then just spouts a load of dribbling nonsense no one takes any notice of... unless to take the piss out of him.

I thought he was ok when on the ball. Tried to get to the line and cut a few nice balls back. I did though lose track of the number of times a team mate, most of the time Murty, had to shout at him to mark up or get into position.

I think in context we should be highly pleased with our win over an extremely strong and determined Didcot side, a side that fully reflects the challenges that we will face this coming season, unfortunately Reading wern't able to field the basis of thier Championship side as the "buy one get one free" part of the transfer window hasn't arrived yet so the performance of the Royals far exceeded what should be expected next season.

You're saying we won't win many games 9-0 next season ?

You really are challenging Lawrenson and Hansen for the title of most insightful analyst !!

This cynicism and negativity is incredibly tedious now.

If we've made no new signings and have only a handful of points after 6 games then go for it full blast, but can't you just hold on until then? Policies adopted by this club over the majority of the Chairman's (not to mention the manager's) tenure have proved to be ultimately successful, so just can you not find it in yourself to be a little more patient with the club you purport to support?

I was going to have a piss on our right wing at half time as it would've had better consistency than James Henry or Bambi On Ice Volume II that replaced him

Please do that. You will be kicked out and banned from the club. The sooner losers like you are away from the club the better.
