Perhaps they've both benefitted from the old addage that sometimes players become better when their out of the side.

Same thing happened with Rosenoir last season whilst Murty was having a bit of a tough time of it.

I do agree that both players reputation on here outweighs their contrinutions on the pitch.

BR2 What I find odd is the cult status of Marek and Bikey.
Neither have played many games for us,both have been dropped and both have obvious weaknesses where one loses concentration and the other can't tackle.
It shows how far we have fallen that these two are now thought by many on here as key players.
Personally I hope that they both stay and are regulars in our side but losing Kitson IMHO is a bigger loss than losing any other player.

Just because you can't tackle doesn't make you a lesser player than someone who does.

I can name many top players who can't or couldn't tackle.

Many of the games top passers fall into that category. For us Darren Caskey and Simon Osborn weren't the most frequent tacklers and at an International level I can't remember Glenn Hoddle putting too many tackles in.

Let's see how well Bikey plays in Olympic in China.
Then, there might be some Big clubs in Europe tempted to make an offer.

Anyway, my answer is, Bikey, please stay with us!

I would take 4Million for Bikey. Although i would prefer to see Sonko leave.

No argument with either of you about tackling-the problem with Marek is that he tries to tackle and isn't very good at it so ends up getting sent off.

I think the papers have just mixed up Sonko and Bikey. there is no way the latter is going anywhere, especially as he will be barely back in the country by the time the window shuts.

The only risk would be if he played fantastically at the Olympics and one of the big boys bid serious money -- say 5M plus - which would be hard to turn down as we have so many CB's.

Megaphone of Destiny According to today's Times:
"Hull City and Sunderland lead the chase for Andre Bikey, the defender who is valued at around £3 milion and is among the players that Reading are willing to sell"

All this from your first ever post

I really hope that this is bollix. Seemed to me that in those last dreadful months at the end of last season Bikey was one of the few who was up for it. The fact that he' a bit of a loon and very raw makes him great to watch. He's clearly a decent athlete, and if he can take on some decent coaching, this surely means that his value is likely to rise.

Losing Kits was sad, this would be bad. Surely if we need cash we just need to sell Headless Hunt. Not Bikey.

I agree. Bikey was one of the few positives to come out of those dismal last couple of months.

Alan Partridge If Reading sell Bikey then the Sack the Board banner will be out in force v Plymouth

yup, we'd be stupid to sell Bikey. They can have Sonks if they want. I'm not going to watch Sonko concede goals against Doncaster ffs. It's going to be catastrophe for us.
Bikey > Sonko
Sonko = bye bye
Thanks, we'll take 3mill for that. Nice bit of business Roy. Laughing all the way bank, if he goes in for Sonko instead. Oh yh, and RE: someone said that Bikey is great talent. Yh, he is RAW talent, don't find them anymore these days.

I really want Sonks to stay as I can see him being and integral part of our team again. Give the guy a chance peeps. This is his level!

He said he wants to go. Doesn't that count for anything?

It all depends if he really wants to be here or not. Sonko was immense before he got injured, and would love to see him performing at that level again. Maybe a pre-season will help, but if he is not the palyer he was before the inury, then any money for him would be good.

I don't think there's much chance of Bikey going to Hull. Unlike Kitson he doesn't need to impress his national team's manager, because he's already first choice. Unlike Kitson he's at the start of his career, and can leave us if we don't go up. In a year there's a good chance we'll be in the same league (or even a higher league) as Hull and Stoke.

Your really think that had anything to do with Kitson's transfer? You think, even in Kitson's head, there's the slightest chance of him getting a call-up at Stoke?
