Bikey "I am open to a transfer, but I have a contract with Reading until 2010."

I'm surprised that his contract is so short!

What will happen at 11 minutes past eight?

Alan Partridge Byekey, funny aint it we took him on despite him nutting some fat bloke in Sweden, no one had ever or would have ever heard of him before and he'd have been left in Russia. First sniff of a chance to jump ship and it's cya.

It is little outbursts like these which make me think that I am quite justified in slating our players if their performances don't come up to scratch. There is some real promise there, but what have you achived thus far in your career Bikey? Rejected by Moscow, relegated with Reading and random acts of astonishing violence. Better knuckle down and consistently show us how good you actually are before you start planning your next move.

You have to wonder how much we will achiece next season given that most of our better players don't seem to want to be here at all.

"To be honest, playing in the Championship has never been my ambition," Bikey told skysports.com.

To be honest, seeing out team relegated to the Championship was not our ambition but there was little we could do about it. Unlike you, Mr Bikey!

"I love the top level, and Reading are in the Championship. I want to play in a top division.

Perhaps you should have kept telling yourself that last season and done something about it then!

So all the blame for our relegations lies at the feet of Bikey.

Glad you cleared that up. I will get warning up so can I boo him like I've never booed before.

In fairness, he did a lot more to try and help us stay up than most players, or have you forgotten his 2 goals against B'ham?

You're an idiot.

Bikey did more defensively for the team last season than Murty, Rosenior, Sonko, Harper and Cisse put together along with popping up with some vital goals. I wouldn't begrudge him a move - he's certainly a class above the likes of Stephen Hunt and James Harper, players who WERE actually responsible for our relegation who played week-in, week-out.

I agree with you, a terrific signing from Steve Coppell.

Quite, and he'd have been even more terrific if he hadn't kept dropping him for important games which we would go on to lose.

Not quite sure i'd agree that he "kept dropping him for important games we would go on to lose" but certainly in my opinion he like a couple of others were underutilised by Coppell. Looking at the games he actually started for us, although on the whole our results weren't significantly that much better, our defensive record was better on average than when he didn't play (largely due to him not starting in the Pompey and Spurs away games.)

Steve Coppell believes he is winning his battle to keep Reading’s relegated squad together, despite Andre Bikey’s admission that he would welcome the opportunity to move to France this summer.

Bikey is understood to be reluctant to ply his trade in the Championship next season and there has been reported interest from St Etienne and Rennes.

He still has two years left to run on his current contract at Madejski Stadium, but is hoping that a compromise can be reached which will allow him to further his career elsewhere.

Royals have already lost Dave Kitson to Stoke for what could end up being a club record £5.5million fee, while Glen Little left on a free to Portsmouth. But so far the bulk of Royals’ team remains in place.

And Coppell told the Evening Post: “I don’t expect to lose many players now. We may lose one more, but we’re not under constant threat. I thought there would be a lot more interest in the players.

“It does surprise me. Given the performances over the last three seasons, I would have thought our players would have been targeted more. We had speculative bids, but no real serious back-up from there.”

Bikey is currently with the Cameroon Olympic squad and is thought to favour a move away from Madejski Stadium for the sake of his international career.

He told Skysports.com: “To be honest, playing in the Championship has never been my ambition. I love the top level, and Reading are in the Championship. I want to play in a top division.

“Playing in France would be good, but England is my preferred choice. I could learn a lot in the top league here, or in France.

“I am open to a transfer, but I have a contract with Reading until 2010.”

Coppell said: “Like the rest of the players, if anyone comes in – as long as it’s a realistic offer – we will put it to the player and he can make his own mind up.

“He wants to be at the Olympics and I think if I was a player it would be exciting, but I think he will be aware that our season starts before he comes back and other people are likely to be in pole position.

“He’s played in World Cup games in the summer and all the players in national sides talk about playing wherever and all of a sudden he finds himself playing in the Championship so I think he would not find it attractive, but as yet I’m not aware of any interest in him.”

Ready?

The wheels on the bus are falling off, falling off, falling off,
the wheels on the bus are falling off, all summer long...

'I'm not aware of any interest in him'

could provide a stumbling block for Bikey, I wish everyone would just chillax down a bit. Stop getting yourselves into such a st8

Shouldn't that be "For the same story pick up a copy of Tuesday's Evening Post"?

PS, Jay. what about that story makes you think the wheels are falling off. No serious offers for our players? Perhaps one more to leave? What happened to the exodus?

Now we'll have the return of the none of our players were good enough for the premiership arguement again.

Or maybe we just told clubs to stump up cash or oxf*rd off.

All those statements at the start of the summer where people were saying we'd end up selling all our players for a pittance because we'd said we'd sell for the right price and had to trim the squad!

LOL. That happened didn't it. One player out of Contract and £5.5M deal for a player (albeit a damn good one) who hasn't had a full season since he joined us 4.5 seasons ago.

Why would he want to live in Hull or Sunderland?

In any case, I feel if we had played him earlier in the season, say Sunderland away, we may have got an extra point...
