RUMOUR - Tom Soares

by tomrfcurz » 31 Aug 2008 18:48

I just read that Tom Soares will sign before the transfer window and was persuaded to join by ex-royals youngster and brother of the Crystal Palace man, Louie Soares who claimed the club were great at looking after the players.

I'd love this to be true but some how i doubt it knowing RFC.

Apparently it helps if the selling club are willing to do business with the buying club's manager as well. Allegedly.

He's one of those I'd have liked to have seen us go for the January before Sidwell left to see if he could've grown into being his replacement

Always quite rated him, and his ability to play on the right as well as in the middle could've been helpful, so it'll be interesting to see how he gets on this time round after doing pretty well with Palace last time he was in the top flight

Why? We have 3 good midfielders, plus 3 more who can play there. Championship clubs can't afford to have big earners sitting on the bnch,or not even in the squad, unnecessarily.

Did we miss a trick here, good last yeat at Palace, went to a team that had no idea of how to play in the Prem, long throws excepted.

Now on loan at Charlton, I feel a cheeky bid may have brought him to RFC, and with something to prove, he might have worked damned hard here and been an asset.

I'd quite like him here, he's a Reading lad, but would he improve the side? Wouldn't get in his prefered midfield position, and he's not a Reading winger.
