Not that much of a surprise - having spent two years in the Prem (where the refs are in their own little group) we are now being allocated referees from the National group - there is naturally more scope in the National group for officiating at clubs for the first time and at different levels.

And no, he hasn't officiated at a Wolves game.

This game is crying out for an experienced referee. A game as big as this one is not what a referee with 17 games of Football League experience should be taking charge of. The FA need to be shot for appointing him to this game. I only hope this guy's a homer, as most ref's seem to be.

Slightly more than 17 games, h_h - he's been a league referee for 5 seasons. However, he has only refereed a total of 19 Championship level league games in his career.

With him only officating in a few games this season i can only imagine that he is a poor referee.

Will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure of the game this evening
