Doyle/Hunt

by The 17 Bus » 23 Apr 2009 09:10

Heard a whisper that Blackburn will be in for Doyle in the summer to replace Rocky Santa Cruz, and Hunt off to Ipswich for a fee of about £2.5m.

Neither to play a big part in the remains of the season, no idea if true mind you.

Not sure about Hunt and Ipswich as they're broke and have a new manager but I can easily see Doyle leaving this summer.

Yes please. And LOLz at Hunt to Ipswich. His hair cut will fit in better over there.

I would thought what division we find ourselves in would have a bearing on things...

Keene would not go there unless he has millions to spend. Hunt and Lita could be going there.

Good news, I hope we sell Harper, Shunt and Doyle this summer. We only want players who want to play for RFC, hopefully this season has taught the club that desperately hanging on to players doesn't work. It's time to rebuild the team and start progressing again.

Since when has JH ever given the impression that he doesn't want to play for us? One thing that you could never accuse him off was not giving 110% If Harps goes, I for one will be sorry to see him go.

Even if we do go up, I would like to see Doyle, Hunt, and Harper sold. Even with them, I don't think the squad is strong enough to stay up. Rather than invest in mercenaries at the end of their careers in order to secure 17th place, I'd like to see Madejski use a year in the prem (if we go up) to get the club on the firmest financial foundation possible by trimming the wage bill, selectively investing in young talent, and blooding our youth at the highest level. In all likelihood we'd go down, but I'd feel confident about the future of the club.

So where will he be going in the summer and how much will we get for him? I've already resigned myself to losing my favourite ever Reading player

No one will want him if they have seen him play since xmas ..... southampton might be kind enough to take him off our hands

Don't talk sheeite mate - hes a class player and even having not played to his best this season - he bagged 18 goals - You may think no one will want him but the moment he becomes available , if that sadly is the case, you can be sure plenty of clubs will want him - and we will only realise if he goes, how difficult a a replacement for him will be to find!
