Arnie_PieReadingfanman So if we win on Monday and beat Birmingham, we are relying on Colin oxf*rd to provide us with a draw at home to Sheffield, can anyone really see them doing it? It is perfectly possible I guess with hopefully the physcological element of the day getting to the Blades, but that is not the point in this thread.
If we won on Monday night at Norwich, but Sheffield then went on to get promoted, would you be more down knowing that we had the hope on the last day and having it knocked out of you? Or would drawing at Norwich and then beating Birmingham, still seeing Sheffield getting promoted be more frustrating?
I personally think seeing us "lose" promotion on the final day would be a lot more down heartening to the players and the fans, even if it is not in our hands. Beating Birmingham would be a massive result in the scheme of things, but would it not be more morale inducing to see Sheffield then get promoted maybe by a lucky equaliser after we thought we were going up. Would it not be almost in a way "better" if we drew on Monday and went into the last game knowing we were playing for the Playoffs?
Us losing auto on the last day of the season is no worse than getting relegated on the last day by another teams result. Like last year.
If we lose it we still have hope.
But losing hope on the last day, do you think that would hurt the players morale more than the potential of no hope being shot to pieces on the last day because we already couldn't get promoted?
