Accept £5million
I hope he goes to a Premiership Club and ends up playing a few more games than Shorey, Sonko, Sidwell, etc.

Best of luck to him. Even when in bad troughs of form, he always gave 100%.

But we might be going up anyway??

For the last 2 seasons he has been a class player for the first half of the season and a shit one for the second half .... not good enough i'm afraid , he has to take a large portion of blame for us not going up automatically

Dont talk bollox - if it wasnt for his goals, we'd probably not even have made play-offs - there are far more players culpable of the teams demise this season before you start shooting at Doyle.....if all the players showed his commitment and workrate, we'd have walked that division ...i guess you think
SHunts a great player as well..givent he bollox you have written about Doyle!

i dont wear rose tinted glassed - but i definitely know that theres plenty of other players that lead the list before I would get to Doyle in the "whose to blame" game!

you obviously need to see how transfers work at club - You tell me where we are going to get a replacement on a par with Doyle for the meagre amounts we fork out?????? - dont you think the Doyle coup when we got him from Cork, hasn't alerted many other clubs to potential bargains in places like Ireland, and had clubs hike up player values to safeguard - another Doyle at a price affordable to Reading isnt going to happen

I think Noel can do the job Doyle does.

Mooney?
Long and N.Hunt would surely be the better option.

SHunt and Doyle are on premiership players wages but dont put in the performances to warrant them , they are taking the piss out of honest hardworking supporters who pay their grossly high wages.
If they get such high wages and put in performances to warrant them then fine , but they dont so boooooooo to them

Agree with Shunt going, but i disagree about Doyle going NOT being a loss to this club. Doyle is a quality player who doesn't seem to spout off about his worth in a bid to hike his wages or place a 'come and get me' sign around his neck.

Kevin Doyle is an absolute legend. He has shown nothing but loyalty and commitment to this club and could have done one 18 months ago. In these days of money grabbing this guy has stuck by us because he feels he wants to right a wrong when other clubs have been in for him. His form may have been lousy for the last few months but he always gives 100% and cares about the club. IMHO he will be the biggest loss by far this summer when he goes IF we don't go up.

I would love this guy or Long to score the winner at Wembley as I think you would see their true colours.

I'd take £5m. Maybe a little less.

I hope he goes to a reasonable sized Prem club, not one of the big 4 or the couple just below them. That'll give him a chance to actually play a good number of games and shine.

Just assuming for a moment you are completely wrong and all Doyle or Long care about are cash and the furtherment of their career, exactly how different would their celebrations be if they scored a winning goal at Wembley?

Would you expect them to take off their shirt and run to the cameras wearing a t-shirt which reads:

"I couldn't give a monkey's about Reading, come sign me and give me loads of wonga Sir Alex, I'm great!"

Just comparing it to SHunt who would just see it as a progression goal - something special, but another part in his jigsaw. It would mean more to you or I to score that goal because of our allegiance then someone with no special love of the club. hence more special for Doyle or Long etc. then maybe SHunt? Take your point about scoring at Wembley, but do you see what I mean?

I do, but I think you over stress their attachment to the club.
