Maguire Dellor makes my ears bleed and has demonstrated on endless occasions over the years that he really doesn't know a single thing about football. I'm not surprised Rodgers was stopped in his tracks when Dellor said the performance was worse than against Palace; it's a truly astonishing take on a game where we've totally outplayed our opponents and on any other day would've won by miles.
What I didn't like was the way Rodgers responded - he just couldn't articulate how ridiculous he found the statement and started coming out with some nonsense about not being a true supporter and the like. Dellor did reasonably well in the face of it to be fair to him. Rodgers is still young but that's no excuse for chomping on bait even quicker than frimmers does.
I don't agree with Dellor's take but it's not that fanciful. If I was a Sheff Wed fan i'd be more pissed off by the 0-2 against reading than the 0-4 against West Brom the previous week.
Scunthorpe were absolute dross whereas Palace were not and Dellor's comment is in that context.
As you say though, regardless of the context, Rodgers sounded a complete tool.
