Royal Lady If the podcast has been pulled from the beeb, then it can only mean that RFC agree with the majority in that BR was wrong to react in the way he did and they don't want other people hearing it. Though, I wouldn't have thought that RFC have enough clout to do that, do they??

Perhaps the football club told BBCRB to remove it and to sort Dellor out unless they want to lose access to the club?

no it's available on iTunes

Obviously not.

A thread so stupid that even the OP couldn't be bothered to defend it. Well done.

General negativity? He calls it as he sees it. I don't always agree with all he says, but the BBC's job is to be fair and even-handed and I think that BBCRB are reflective of public opinion at the moment - they were booed off on Saturday after all.

Royal With Cheese I've just listened to the interview and thought it wasn't that bad. Rodgers made a joke about Dellor not being involved in the preparation of the team - not banning him from the training ground as one rumour suggested.

LOL at Dellors analogy of the game with the Captain of the Titanic after Rodgers described the performance as "outstanding". The voyage went pretty well, apart from the bit with the iceberg!

listen to the embaressing calls from the general public... retards

As I can't stand listening to Mr.Overeaction Dellor after losses and refuse to listen to him talk utter nonsense, can anyone explain in bullet points or whatever what the cause of all this kerfuffle is?

Right ..just found it on the Peach broadcast (8.15 am..about 75 minutes in)
Rodgers also said that anyone thinking that was not a fan of the team. He also used the word outstanding to describe the performance. What Dellor failed to articulate at the time was that C Palace were alot better than Scunny who were essentially there for the taking...Reading had good patches in both games but Scunny offered zip until 78 minutes... . Reading's performance in both games was not good enough and unless they improve on that relegation is a distinct possibility. For Rodgers to describe the scunny effort as outstanding is as bad as Dellor saying the club is rotten to the core because Rodgers is supposed to know what he is taking about.

Well, I was down in the concourse en route to an early departure by then but it sure sounded like discontent. Still, BR said in other interviews I have read that the crowd are still behind him so who are we to argue.

One mans discontent is anothers "outstanding" backing of a "World Class model".

Nothing wrong with what Rodgers said, Dellor sounded like a total idiot.

There was a fair bit wrong with what he said:

"you're not a supporter of this club" - he is a journalist, BBC Radio Berkshire are not repsonsible for being cheerleaders of the club.

If Rodgers had replied: "you're entitled to your opinion" then nobody would have blinked an eyelid. But to somehow suggest that those questioning the way things are going are not 'supporters' is blinkered and arrogant and an insult to the paying spectators who booed the team off, as is their right.

I said this on here on Saturday. At least we know what he thinks of "supporters" now - he won't be surprised to learn what many of us think of him.

Maguire Dellor makes my ears bleed and has demonstrated on endless occasions over the years that he really doesn't know a single thing about football. I'm not surprised Rodgers was stopped in his tracks when Dellor said the performance was worse than against Palace; it's a truly astonishing take on a game where we've totally outplayed our opponents and on any other day would've won by miles.
What I didn't like was the way Rodgers responded - he just couldn't articulate how ridiculous he found the statement and started coming out with some nonsense about not being a true supporter and the like. Dellor did reasonably well in the face of it to be fair to him. Rodgers is still young but that's no excuse for chomping on bait even quicker than frimmers does.

I don't agree with Dellor's take but it's not that fanciful. If I was a Sheff Wed fan i'd be more pissed off by the 0-2 against reading than the 0-4 against West Brom the previous week.

Scunthorpe were absolute dross whereas Palace were not and Dellor's comment is in that context.

As you say though, regardless of the context, Rodgers sounded a complete tool.

Even though firmly in the BR in campaign I thought the Dellor question was a fair one and was very disappointed with the petulant response.

I thought at the time the response was a joke by BR but Dellor said this morning that Rodgers was really angry with him and he seemed taken aback (which is probably why he started gibbering after Rodger's retort rather than going for the jugular as a good interviewer should have done in these circumstances).

Have to say Rodgers did go down in my estimation after the interview.

So you agree that anyone who disagrees with Rodgers opinion regarding the merits of one performance against another is not a supporter of the club?

We'd better ask Rodgers to post a hierachy of this season's performances to ensure none of us call it wrong and have to hand in our season ticket.
