I really don't know what all the fuss is about.

Dellor asks frank question - Rodgers is frankly astonished and berates him - Dellor backtracks, no he won't be anywhere near the team, and that's that.

I think the general desperation has been there for all to see and hear for a number of weeks now.

Reading fans are about as fickle as Spurs' fans, and that's saying something.

First time I've heard it. Sounded like Rodgers was talking his usual bullshit. Got (really weakly) challenged on it and decided to have a big sulk. He was certainly delusional if he thought he could come out of that result and think everything was positive.

If he couldn't see how a fan of the club could consider a 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe at home where we'd had all the chances yet gifted them three or four opportunities to score as a worse result than Palace then he has no right to be a paid professional.

Results and performances are very closely linked. You could argue we played really well, but equally, if we had played really well we'd have got the 4 or 5 goals Rodgers thought we should have had. We certainly wouldn't have let Scunthorpe get the three good and easy opportunities they did.

From what I saw of Palace we got beaten by some excellent play and quality long shots + yet more failure to convert good chances.

Has dellor been on the radio at all since last night?

As radio berks sports editor or whatever he is I think its odd that they had some others doing all the reporting on BR getting the boot

Has Dellor been hidden away for a while??

lolwut?

We played Scunthorpe off the park and should've won by a mile. To come out and say it was a worse performance than shipping four at home to a bang average Palace side is just LOLaughable. I'm with Rodgers here - ridiculous sentiment from Dellor.

Possibly his point was "we should be beating Scunthorpe every day of the week, but we've failed to do so, whereas Palace should have been (and were) much tougher opponents, so to lose to them (whilst upsetting) isn't as surprising" ... But without asking Dellor himself I'm just speculating.

But having been at both games i would say that Palace were infinitely superior to Scunthorpe - so what you are saying is that you cannot factor in the ability if the team we are playing against.

That is like saying that losing to Man Unt narrowly 1-0 would be a worse performance than drawing 0-0 with the Reading girls under 15's. Of course you have to factor in the quality of the opposition and I think Dellor made a valid point.

But what was the difference between the two sides in the table though?

A lot's been said about how poor Scunthorpe were and how much better Palace were, but over the rest of the season that doesn't pan out to any great extent. Scunthorpe had beaten the likes of Newcastle, Sheff U and even Palace themselves.

Has it not occurred to anyone that our performance against them was better because it made them look that much worse, or that our performance was so much worse against Palace because we made them (and a very much on form Moses) look a better team than they are.

I guess not, unfortunately it doesn't stop the arrogant nature of the 'we should be beating Scunthorpe's of the league with ease' comments though.
