It's an affliction that only a run of W-D-L (or worse, and in any order) is capable of curing, I'm afraid

And it sure beats the alternative of a bunch of wailing and gnashing of teeferz, at least

Until the RTG's have their dreams shattered Chi. Then it's almost like a bile fest. Please all hark back to the 'where will you think we will end up' thread and be happy that we are at least hitting expectations this season.

Yep. Moving towards where we should have been all season IMO.

I'm on record as saying before the season started "Mid-table finish, might just sneak into the play-offs" - and I'm still happy with that as a prediction.

WE
WON'T
BE
GETTING
INTO
THE
FECKING
PLAY
OFFS

We'd need to win about 9 of the final 12 games to do this, aint gonna happen if you look at the run-in. In fact, if we lose tonight we have a nasty looking four games after that and we could be looking over our shoulders again.

I predict that this thread will be locked by 10pm tonight.

We are now 8 points behind 6th place with a game in hand, and 6 points ahead of the team in 22nd (ironically the same team that were 21st on 26th January), with a game in hand

While there's no doubting the (minor) coincidence, I'm failing to grasp the inherent irony, if any

"Ironic" is the borough council going into closed session to discuss the Open Meetings Act

Correct, this is not irony at all.

It's amazing how, even when they've recently been made to look utterly stupid, some people can't help carrying on with absolute pronouncements. Is everyone so desperate to draw attention to themselves?

We probably won't be getting into the playoffs.

Just a bit of reverse fate-tempting, grumpy.

And in any case, I wish people would focus on the fact that we are closer to the drop than promotion. I recall a few wins in March of 2008 and the likes of Andrew1957 crowing against the nay sayers. Now that was utterly stupid.

Think I'm on record as something similar Dirk. I was very unhappy with the first 20 odd games. I am delighted with the rest so far. We've not done it in the fashion I wanted, but if anything, I find it actually more promising for starting next season as genuine promotion contenders again.

I was thinking about that very mode-and-manner thing on my way for groceries this morning, Ian

As in, "Have I enjoyed the actual route to 16th place on 44 points with a GD of -4 after 34 games with two in hand on most --or would I have preferred to get to precisely the same place by going, if you will, W-L-D-L-W since August?"

I suppose that it's been a more valuable thing to have experienced it as it's actually played out

AP and I had the same discussion over lunch.

I had chicken enchiladas so the discussion veered off onto the nature of takeaways and diet in modern UK.

Actually sounds quite appealing from my perspective --to wit, that of having made the switch to summer time o'er t'weekend

Leaves me with a spare hour before KO and no clue as to what to do with it :|

We have two weeks 'til Summer Time.

Didn't stop some of those short short/tights combos.

Feck off Floydster baybee...we are as close to the play-offs as we are to relegation. Get with the in-crowd...before its too late.

Definitely going down. Simply not good enough for this division.

We're certainly on a great run. But how many good teams did we beat?

If you can't beat the bad 'uns, then beating the good 'uns won't matter anyway
