The ref was 2 yards behind Lampard and the linesman was 15 yds out. They should have the abilty to see that goal. It was obvious watching it live that it was over the line. Sepp BLOLatter.

Lino should "overlook" a couple of clear off-sides second half...

I just don't understand.

The officials should be punished for this shocking decision. Absolutely abysmal. I hope BLOLatteROFL saw that it went in.

What happens when it goes against us? Then everyone who clamoured for the use of the technology will be complaining the other way.

Leave things as they are because mistakes and argument will never be removed from the game. It's one of the reasons that I love this bloody sport!

Most of those who are against technology, myself included, are not against it for the black and white decision of whether a ball crossed a line. That can do done without the use of cameras by just having a chip in the ball and sensors in the goal.

I am against it for the more grey areas like penalty decisions, violent conduct, etc......

Exactly - most people just don't want teh game stopped or replayed. This is what I said on another thread :

Dirk Gently I'm definitely in favour of using technology for line decisions - with the proviso that the ref has a instantaneous alert if the ball is over the line.

But everything else (fouls, handballs, even off-sides) are subjective - when you consider that things like intent have to be taken into considerations they're all matters of opinion, which two people might see in different ways even with the best technology in the world. The "wisdom of crowds" doesn't apply if you just add a couple of people looking at replays - you need lots of people before it applies, so whilst we have a small team of people whose job it is to give opinions on the decisions then that's fine by me.

Anything that stops a game and potentially takes it back on a matter of opinion will irrevocably change the game for the worse, IMHO>

Whats the odds of Gerrard/Rooney/someone going down in the box and hoping the ref thinks he owes us one?

Upson is the one that couldn't compete physically with Klose that cost us the first goal don't forget. Fine! He scored with a good header. Lampard's just hit the bar with a pretty impressive free-kick.

I'm not Kes, by the way

Ideal So you missed the fact that he only had to chase Klose because Terry ran 10 yards upfield and miscalculated where the ball went completely?
Should have been an easy headed clearance, but he made a mess of it and it gifted Germany a goal.

I'm not defending John Terry (who, I think, is a twat); but I do take issue with your assertation that Upson is looking "world class". Klose pushed him off like a amatuer.

James was also partly at fault for that goal for getting himself stuck in no-mans-land.

Oh! Bollocks!

Anyone know where we can find a decent goalkeeper with a British passport?

Right. This is getting embarrasing,

The best way to deal with this is to just LOL.

The thing is, this shower will return to their clubs afterwards and be lauded as heroes despite it.

Oh dear Gareth Barry. Poor touch gives the ball away for the third, and then despite having a few yards start on Ozil to get to the long ball he decides to just gently jog back up the pitch allowing Ozil a free run in to the penalty area.

Poor. Very poor.

I don't think that will happen (even with the Chelsea plastics). This is John Terry's last game for England, regardless!

Its time to demote all the older players and build a new team around players like Rooney and Milner, it may bring about a few poor matches but it will give the players the experience they need for future tournements. As the commentators have just said Schweinstger has 79caps at just 25 years old and similar to Polodski.
