LoyalRoyalFan Why is the caller on the radio slagging off McDermott, Coppell, Madejski, Portsmouth...

'We should of beat Derby 8-0 on the last day of the season...'

Tina what are you talking about.

Wimb We just own Brian Laws tbf :D wasn't he in charge when we stuffed Wednesday twice?

He was in charge for the 6-0 in Sep 08 but had gone by the time we thrashed them 5-0 in the 2nd half of last season. By my reckoning thats goals for 15, goals against 1, against him :D

Royalee Which genius decided that it wouldn't be a good idea to take extra players in case Kebe wasn't fit...oh yeah, McDermott.

And how did that go today?

See this is why football is brilliant - I spend a huge amount of money travelling to watch Reading play (not today though, vowed never to return to Turf Moor after the play off semi) and spend all week talking, analysing and arguing about them, but even if you'd have given me 50 guesses last Saturday I'd never have predicted that we'd lose 1-0 at home to Swansea despite having a good home record, lose 1-0 to the worst team in the league who hadn't won at home, then thrash a team 4-0 who had the best home record in the division.

And this is what makes the Championship such a great league - it really is so competitive and unpredictable. And let's face it, looking at some of the Prem fixtures today:
Tottenham v Everton, 12:45
Birmingham v Blackpool, 15:00
Chelsea v Wolverhampton, 15:00
Sunderland v Aston Villa, 15:00
West Brom v Fulham, 15:00
Wigan v Bolton, 15:00

And then at the Championship:
Burnley v Reading, 15:00
Coventry v Barnsley, 15:00
Hull v Portsmouth, 15:00
Millwall v Derby, 15:00
Norwich v Middlesbrough, 15:00
Nott'm Forest v Ipswich, 15:00
Preston v Crystal Palace, 15:00
Swansea v Leicester, 15:00
Watford v Scunthorpe

There's very little difference in excitement anyway...

Just seen the action on SSN - very surprised that Cort was on the pitch after the pen. Very nice finish by Church off the underside of the bar from a tight angle.

Churchy. He has had a few scrabbled-in goals and a few very difficult or long shots.

But he misses sitters and near-sitters.

He seems to miss when he has more time, if that makes sense.

mental thing?

Only if you think Madejski is god!

Nice to hear someone on air stating what they think of Madejski's approach. IMO not far wrong in her assessment of it either.

Madejski's loved all the bouquets he's received in the past on the radio, let's see how he likes a few brickbats heading in his direction.

As for her other points, well may not be right but hardly embarrassing.

That'd be dabbling in the realm of the intangible

My strong preference is to stick to the cold, hard numbers

No different to most strikers. He's got great movement and is reasonably quick with a decent first touch. He's terrible in the air so won't score with many headers. Of all people Snowball you would know that his goals scored compared with number of minutes on the pitch is pretty decent for a young 'un.

Not so. Some strikers are clinical and convert a high percentage of their chances

All depends how good the chances are. Different players with different styles of play tend to get different types of chances in different areas around the box.

I agree it was a little odd that she had that outburst on such a good day. But it's refreshing to see some fans who have a handle on the big picture.

That lady said it EXACTLY as it is.

Good on you Tina.

Had me grinning the whole way through for SOMEONE having the balls to just say it as it is.

My apologies go to those for whom hearing the truth hurts: perhaps you could ask Madejski to insulate his rectum so you don't get to hear such things next time?
