If the latter, in my opinion, then it would eclipse our last promotion season in so may ways.

i was saying that to the missus just yesterday- she thought i was nuts - probably right

but to have got relegated, and lose every single one of our quality players from our best ever side, not spend any of that money, and still manage to go up again would be a massive massive achievement

I for one hope we don't make the play-offs this season.

I'll be on honeymoon for last 2 homes games and 1st leg of play-offs. And flying out to Cuba for work on the day of the play-off final at wembley

Not sure of the dates Brendy,

But would love to get to Wembley this year as it is only the Championship final being played there. Makes it a lot easier for a bank holiday weekend hotel break.

I would very much like to watch MY team at Wembley. So Play off's are a must. Not fussed about promotion this season (although financially would be great) cos I think some players still have some maturing to do and the championship is the best place for it.

I can never understand how people can be some rational about things like promotion and say that they'd rather not go up as we're not ready. The Premier League is even more average than we were there last time anyway, so I think we'd possibly do alright.

Very few teams can say they are ready for the Prem. I'm sure the fake hoops don't honestly think they are ready.

It's just a case of enjoy the ride.

The only good things about not getting promotion are things like:

Can get tickets to any game I want
Can get to the bar at 1/2 time easily
Games are cheaper

etc.

All serious considerations - financial health of the club, quality of the team, status of the club, long-term prospects of the club etc are improved by promotion.

I have this niggling feeling at the back of my mind that i wouldn't enjoy it very much if we got raped every week, that's all

I've seen Reading win a cup at Wembley

I've seen them win the football league (best trophy in football)

Having twice come away empty handed I don't think either would match seeing a play-off win.

Be nice to have the full set though....!

By the way isn't automatic still on if we can get Norwich and Swansea to implode and the FL to apply QPR's points deduction before the end of the season.

Swansea look to already be imploding, Norwich however are going from Strength to Strength

brendywendy what are the play off dates by the way?

PROVISIONAL dates are (these can change subject to which teams are involved)

Championship 1st Legs

Thursday 12th May & Friday 13th May

Championship 2nd Legs

Monday 16th May & Tuesday 17th May

Championship Final (at Wembley)

Monday 30th May

And if it meant us going up I'd happily miss all these games!

Just for the record the Play off finals for other divisions are set for Old Trafford over the weekend of 28/29 May.

Can I just be the first to predict that we're going to meet Swansea at Wembley, with Steve Coppell in the commentary box doing the summarising?

What has Steve Coppell got to do with Swansea?

It'll be Chris Coleman.

Now, about this not being good enough with Gylfi in the side...

Last season we FINISHED, after 46 games...

9 Reading 46 17-12-17 68-63 +5 63 Points

We have equaled that points total and have a GD +18 Better.

6 Reading 39 16-15-8 64-43 +21 63 (SEVEN GAMES IN HAND!)

am I correct in thinking that we won more games when Gylfi didn't play Snowball?

Can't remember if it was wins, but we earned more points per game, yes.

Target (established with 15 games remaining) = 73 points

10 games left = 1.9ppg required

7 games left = 1.43ppg required
