Libertine I think we will...or at least have a great shout at it. I think our recent trips to Goodison, Eastlands and Anfield will help us immensely in dealing with the pressure.

FWIW I don't think you can really class the cup games in the same category as Monday because we didn't really have anything to lose, and if we won the game we would be inevitably knocked out by a bigger, better team in the next round. Whereas Monday, there is a huge amount to lose and the club are closer to achieving it than they were with the cup so the pressure will be on the players a lot more.

However those cup games could be used to show that in a one off game, anything can happen

A lot of people think we have nothing to lose on Monday... 'We never expected to be in this position'. You always have something to lose, but those games have got to give the team the belief that we can beat anyone on a one off game.

Big Ern This is a high pressure game and Reading don't normally perform under these circumstances.

Do you really believe that what happened to the teams that took the field for RFC in past Play Offs might have some relevance to Monday's game just because they play for the same club?

Actually the evidence of recent history, under the current management, suggests this team play very well in pressure games.

And to the doom and gloom merchants who fear that if we lose the team will break up, well yes, maybe we will lose 2 or 3 of the "stars" but let's not forget that these are the very same players who only 3 or 4 months ago were useless according to you.

Whatever the result on Monday the main thing to be positive about is that the club has demonstrated yet again that the way it is run produces results. Investment in the right things, recruiting the right type of individual, maintaining financial stability - these are things that most clubs in the entire League structure look at us with envy.

Plenty to celebrate whether we go up or not, because The Reading FC Way works.

I'd say that match in Cardiff last week was pretty "high pressure".

I was going to put money on a Reading win, but...

... there is a rule up here that states you cannot enter a betting shop with a child. It only takes a few minutes to place the bet, so its not like I would spend the whole afternoon in there.

Anyway if AFC Wimbledon can win, so can Reading.

Swansea beat us 1-0 twice. Big deal

We have Elwood now and anyway league form is a poor pointer to PO results

2009-10

Blackpool drew twice with Cardiff. Won the PO Final 3-2

2007-8

Hull drew with Bristol and lost to Bristol, but won the PO Final

2006-7

Derby won/lost to WBA but won the PO Final

2005-06

Watford drew with Leeds and lost to Leeds but won the PO final against them.

2004-05

West Ham lost 2-1 twice to Preston, then beat them in the PO Final

2003-04

Palace lost 3-0 and won 1-0 v West Ham, but won the PO Final.

2002-03

Wolves drew and lost v Sheffield United but won the PO Final 3-0

The only way Reading will win will be on pens. If that happens, my nerves will be completely fried.

It't not about bringing the excitment level down, just being realistic. We have a porr record in play-offs, and we are playing a team that beat us twice and finsihed with more points than us. Many hve made a big thing about the positive omens, like it or not there is a chance we could lose, and my personal opion is that Swansea are a better team than us and are favorites.

For all the will in the world, i realy cant see us getting a result, i think we went against a Cardiff side that was complacent and off guard, and with the lack of Bellamy had lost its shape, Swansea are a good football on the ground team, why should we beat them now when we could'nt this season i think 2 0 to them, i only pray we can beat them or at least look good trying

Big Ern
You miss the point. They were not high pressure games as we were written off before hand. This is a high pressure game and Reading don't normally perform under these circumstances.

No, you and your negative nonsense miss the point.

Whilst others may have written us off, Brian took his team to those places intending to win and was seriously pissed off when we lost at Eastlands to a poorly conceded goal from a corner.

This team currently has confidence by the bucket load, has performed increasingly well under pressure throughout the season and those two wins on Merseyside were a significant factor in us being clearly unfazed about not beating Cardiff in the home leg...........................win or lose, if any team freezes on the day it won't be us.

The Prisoner Forget the league....this is effectively a one off cup game now!

Who'd back against a BMc team in a one off game?

Pressure all on Swansea IMO

Bring it on baby! Can't wait!!!!!!

Well said Prisoner.

This ain't no normal league contest at the Madstad or away.

This is a massive one-off game and the pressure is HUGE on Swansea because our record in one-off massive games under BM is formidable.

This is what our boys do best.

Be scared Swansea, be very scared.

That's an inclusive thing.

They finished with THREE more points than us by getting SIX points from us.

Against the other 22 clubs it was

Played 44 W20 D14 L10 77-49 GD 28 77 Points Reading
Played 44 W22 D08 L14 75-51 GD 24 74 Points Swansea

Measured against the whole league we were clearly better than them INCLUDING our poor start.
Had Church put away that tap-in at Swansea we'dve finished on 78 and been above Swansea on GD.
or if we had finished what looked like a routine victory v Sheffield United, we'd've been 3rd, above Swansea on GD.

Swansea's first shot at the MadStad was on 35 minutes. Goal. We ddin't have L-Wood and our strikers weren't on fire.

We didn't have L-Wood at Swansea, either, and he makes a MASSIVE difference to how we play.

At the very worst it's a 50-50 game.
