BandiniTBM Harte left back - Mills left mid - McAnuff right mid
I haven't watched enough of either to make a sensible judgement, but if Harte is wanted in the team for his set pieces, but is occasionally/often a liability in defence because of his lack of pace, why would we want him at left back with Mills left midfield, rather than vice versa. I appreciate that that would mean that our left midfielder wouldn't be a winger, but it wouldn't really be so different to the Gilkes/Smillie partnership which often worked, and even when it didn't it was exciting to watch.

Hoop Blahwinchester_royal For a man who bases his whole opinion around stats and facts, this is really rather LOLaughable Snowy.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's true though.

CayeneMatt And another 2 against Peterborough.....
I'll probably get shot down for this (again), but give me Harte's accuracy over Mills speed any day (at the moment). Except for the suicidal back pass that Sinclair got on to first half.
His corner delivery makes Mills and Jobi's look playground standard, and as for the ball out on the touchline that swung in to the back post leading to ALF's goal.....

CayeneMatt Thats complete bollox.
Aside from the pass straight to Sinclair, he did nothing else wrong. To say he cost us repeatedly at the back is the same old shit being churned out without foundation. Agree at the beginning of the season, not tonight. And his short passing was in a different league tonight to anything Mills has done this season.
Knock Harte for his lack of pace, fair enough, but you can't fault him for his performances in the last 2 games.

Sorry, thought his passing was woeful tonight. Crossing for goals/corners etc..... brilliant.
But he repeatedly played short passes to opposition players, as well as some really quote rubbish short passes to players in positions where they shouldn't be receiving the ball. Skinned for pace a few times too

Don't know how anyone can moan about Hartes performance considering the shocker that Leigertwood had last night.
Harte struggled for pace on maybe one occasion, but Gorkss spotted the danger and covered well. Yes, Harte made some misplaced passes (name me a Reading player who didn't) but he also made two of our three goals....
Leigertwood, on the other hand, contributed almost nothing aside from poor, heavy first touches, and balls lost to 'Boro players - it's no coincidence that 'Boro dominated midfield....

Would really like to play Mills on the wing in front of Harte tbf. He's got the pace to get back and cover for Harte and has good feet going forward

Extended-Phenotype It’s funny this game. Sometimes someone’s hero is another’s villain. I thought Legs was more than decent. Missplaced some passes, but who didn’t? Otherwise he was all over people, pushing our team forward, got some decent shots on goal, threaded some passes into the box, and cut out players all over the pitch.
Karacan on the other hand was worse than hopeless. Every time he ran at an opponent he ran into or past them, never making any contact with the ball. He was constantly sat too deep giving acres of space for their midfielders to pick the right pass, and when he did get hold of the ball he gave it away immediately. I can see why Dermie subbed him.
Harte performance was like a summary of what we bang on about on here all the time. Alarm bells rang defensively, but had a hand in everything decent about our attack. We simply can’t ignore finding a plan for the man any longer, be it CB, DM, or my new preference: LW, with Mills behind him.
Other thoughts: HRK simply has to start, and please for the love of everything good in the world, somebody plant some pictures of McDermot’s wife in Church’s locker so he will stop picking the useless clown. ALF and Hunt are by far the best we have.

melonhead ledge did ok,had an up and down game, and got much better later on, but was way off his best of last season/few weeks ago
imo

id happily go with a midfield two of ledge and mcanuff, if we had mills and harte on the left wing
id even try HRK up front with lefondre who was class last night when he came on- changed the game with hhal.
