apparently got concussed late in the game, the first"dive" was after a bad elbow to the eye in the box which in that case should have been a penalty/free kick

winchester_royal
Woodcote Royal 3rd game of the season for me.

Respect to Brian for taking action after an hour of thoroughly depressing football....................we all know what would have happened back in Coppell's day.

From that point on I thought we had, more or less, our strongest available side on the pitch. There's not much you can do about "another silly mistake" from "the best 'keeper in the division" when you've loaned your own number No1 to a promotion rival :|

I don't care how many pin point crosses Harte puts in (or how many times Tim Dellor takes it up the arse for him :| ) these days he's a sh*t left back but Mills was injured.

However, as a fan, I think I'm entitled to ask why any manager in his right mind would bench far and away his best striker and top scorer in favour of Simon Church when your team creates precious few scoring opportunites, making a high conversion rate essential.

Perhaps I'm being slightly stupid in still believing that, one day, Churchy will make a decent footballer but so far, I've seen about 6 decent games from him and what feels like upwards of 50 where's he's been largley irrelevant save from making sure the lino's flag gets raised at regular intervals.

If Alf doesn't start on Saturday, it will be time to send for the men in white coats.

Including the usual anti-Federici drivel, crap post.

WTF is that about us loaning our "No.1" to Leeds? McCarthy isn't No.1.

I thought we totally got away with our worst home performance for some time thanks to two cracking goals from players that really don't deserve to be starting games on the bench behind the likes of Church and Kebe.

We've managed to score 3 goals in two games on the spin but we still can't fashion more than a couple of decent chances during these two games. Thankfully though we managed to pick up maximum points against probably the two worst defensive records in the division without creating many chances. Those points have amazingly put us in touching distance of the play offs but it'll be interesting to see where we are after the more difficult fixtures to come.

I was quite impressed with Peterborough though. Their attacking play was good and it's a shame we can't see similar attacking football that they produce through the clever interchanges from Boyd, Tomlin and Taylor on a more regular basis.

actually before that game HRK has deserved to be on the bench, since th egames he started/came on in in the last few months have been much poorer than at the start of the season when he looked great

now he wont be on the bench due to Mcanuffs ban, and well see how much he deserves a starting place going forward from there
tbf he probably deserves a starting strikers spot ahead of church though, especially after last nights strike

200%agree with le fondre
easily best striker, and best partnership with hunt

Agree that Robson-Kanu didn't take his chance as well as he could've but, with the way Kebe, and to an extent McAnuff at times, have played recently and the lack of goals and creativity in the side I think he should've got another chance.

If the manager doesn't think he could improve on some of the dross we've seen then he isn't half the player he built him up to be. I'm not Robson-Kanu's biggest fan but he's come on leaps and bounds in the last year or so and he needs a decent chance in the team.

We need to do something about midfield as it's utterly lacking creativity and seems ideally set up to give away possession and get bypassed, but I'm not a fan of McAnuff centrally, and personally I thought Kebe was complete toss for most of the game.

Well that's possibly the case, but from his dire performances since coming back into the side after his injury I think he should be coming into form whilst watching Robson-Kanu from the bench.

LoyalRoyalFan
West Stand Man Once again Federici is at fault. What was he doing for the 2nd goal?
Making an error of judgement while trying to prevent a goal being scored.

More evidence as to why he should dropped.

No it isn't, unless you have a superhuman or extra-terrestrial alien who is faultless in mind?

People always talk about experience with Ian Harte, but where was that experience with that awful back pass?

Earth calling.

We are inhabited by human beings who aren't perfect all the time..

(Even the very best make errors sometimes. Harte is a human).

LoyalRoyalFan 2nd mistake in a row.

How many more mistakes until fans realise that Federici is 2nd choice? He has made a mistake on the biggest stage (play-off final) and still not been found out.

The thing is Adam Federici is the best keeper at this club, he is the best in this division and without him we would be lower than 9th.

It's funny that one of the main reasons people on this site don't like him is because he had the balls to say on SSN that if the opportunity arose for him to go to the Premier League on a very long, very lucrative contract he would do just that and try to further his international career. The reason that's funny is because none of you would turn down a bigger and better paid job than the one you have and anyone who says they would is a shameless liar.

Guess what, Federici is a goalkeeper, when he makes a mistake you're going to notice it more because there isn't anyone else in his position. When we sell Feds Alex will come in, he will be a very good player for this club, he will make mistakes and let in shots he could have stopped as well.

Considering LoyalRoyalFan has posted this tedious crap on two consecutive back from the game threads would suggest they are either on a wind-up or trying and failing to be far more controversial and interesting than their generic user name.

Why does everyone assume that everyone would move to a bigger club if they got the opportunity?

It's not always about the money.

It's why I think agents should be shot. It should be about the player and what they want, not what the agent wants.

I don't care about what he said in the summer, I care about the stupid mistakes he consistently makes. Yes he makes the occasional good saves, but mistakes are more costly. Would people be more forgiving if the mistake he made yesterday was when we were 1 all?

You are kidding yourself if you think any Reading player would stay out of loyalty. If a bigger/better/club with more money comes in for any of Readings players, they will leave. That's why I would find it hard to support a small club like yours, knowing full well your best players will go if the team doesn't get promoted. It's a harsh reality that you need to face upto.

What's this? A first half goal for Reading???

Feds goes walkabout again when he should have stayed. If you are not going to get the ball then take the bastard out but to miss everything is incredibly mediocre.

Two very good finishes as well from HRK and ALF. 2 points off the play offs? That's as maybe but light years behind the top 2.
