The away fans were fantasic, and sung their hearts out (apart from the first 15 of the second half). The best song being: "I want to go home, Reading is a sh*thole, I want to go home."

 From NSC

One of the worst and unoriginal chants I've heard at a football ground. Utterly dreadful. Just about every set of fans sings this and seems to think its in some way witty or banter.

I think you miss the point:-
Brighton have for years played at Withdean and had to listen to away fans chanting this stuff at every game so with their sparkling new stadium to be proud of it is easy to understand why they should feel like getting just a bit of their own back.
As for the game once again full credit to our manager for getting the tactics right in not allowing their players to settle on the ball just as we did against West Ham.
This team is miles behind our 2005/6 side in terms of individual ability and flair but the manager gets the very best out of them almost every week and in a game where closing down was our major tactic both Legs and Jem were outstanding.
I'm not sure how far we can go playing like this, the style is similar to Wimbledon of old without the big central striker, but Wimbledon did well,as do Stoke now,so maybe we can get back up and stay there.
We say it every year that this is a poor division but we might just turn out to be one of the best of a poor bunch and as Brian's mantra is to not think further than the next game maybe we should adopt the same philosophy as fans of not worrying what will happen if we get promoted let us get there first.
How good it feels today not to be looking down and all credit to Brian-just those 2 or 3 new players Mr Chairman and who knows?

Svlad Cjelli Some of the tricks McAnuff & Kebe played in the first half to rate openings were great
Agreed, it was like Brazil had turned up wearing Reading shirts.

The Brighton players spent alot of time on the floor, in some cases they went down easy in others they just came out of it badly in one on one tackles, I think it was Lua-Lua that Kebe left on his backside - he wasn't happy about that.

The passing at times was superb.

My rose tinted memory of the game was Kebe running into three Brighton players who all tried to disposes him only for Kebe to then turn around and come back out of the mix the way he went in with the ball still at his feet.

Second half, we were chasing the ball, very scrappy.

Every summer WITHOUT FAIL some people on these pages insist that "we will struggle" (even at the start of the season when we ended up with a record breaking 106pts :| ) and when they are shown to be wrong it's because IT'S A POOR LEAGUE and now, as we surge into a playoff place having beaten all of West Ham, Leeds and Brighton in recent weeks we did it by PLAYING LIKE WIMBLEDON :P

I couldn't disagree more. This league looks rather tasty right now in my view whilst the likes of Blackburn and Bolton already look fit for the drop. I watched all of Stokes game yesterday and half their team seemed to have the first touch of a rapist yet they're in the top half of the Premiership :|

I know it's a strange concept for some but when we are near the top of the table it could be because we have a rather decent team.................................

I'm always doing that, easy mistake to make, both begin with B and Brighton did have orange shirts on (joking). I'm actually a RFC Leige fan but due to similar a mix up I've been supporting Reading for the last 20 years

LoyalRoyalFan Remember when Brighton told us in the summer they were a much bigger club than small time Reading.

3-0

:D

We were very good first half and good to see McAnuff & Kebe on fire.

Bucks Dave I also seem to remember Karacan the furthest player forward in their box at one point and desperate for the ball. Three clean sheets, three teams we're not keen on beaten, I'll stick with this side thanks.

not only that, but he was back defending our own box about 7 seconds later- the blokes oxf*rd great

anyonesaying we played like wimbledon is a oxf*rd idiot

lovely pacy passing football at times, coupled with some great possession passing around the back and midfield, patiently waiting to create space and opportunitys.
when brighton then came twice back into the game with some great passing of their own, we played superb solid defensive, and quick pressing football. shifting our play to cope with what the game required at any given time.

free video available on the OS detailing two moves 30 passes two shots, one goal
just to reinforce my point

They have always had this high and mighty opinion of themselves. Some still think we were lucky yesterday and think our stadium is poor. They have short memories when they couldn't fill their 8,000 stadium.

They still happily sang their "There's no-one there" song even though the only large areas of empty seats were in the away end. Certainly made them look very very stupid.

Tbf, the most cringeworthy thing I found on there was one of our fans, "URZ", setting up an account just to laud it over them.

That really is the ultimate sign of inferiority complex; setting up an account on another team's board just so you can talk about how you're "better" than them. (Kes take note.)

No, I think YOU miss the point. Its been sung by EVERY set of fans this season...its not original at all. Had brighton made this up themselves you might have a case, the fact that its been heard by every single set of fans not just visiting our ground but on sky sports as well makes it dire and unoriginal. It just typifies the absolute mongs that follow football these days.

They are like most other football fans...bias, fickle, deluded, self appreciative and petty..they always have been. I don't even remember football fans being as annoying in the 90's as they are these days since we had the net and social networking, now peoples idiotic opinions get transmitted and full coverage. I haven't bothered going to the last few home games and I have a season ticket..partly due to not enjoying what i've seen on the pitch but mainly due to the state of the modern game and the idiot fanbases that frequent it. Its like a poor soap opera.

Far as I remember it's only predominantly been sung while their own teams have been losing to "little old" Reading... maybe just singing to excuse themselves from an early exit?
