SLAMMED Just tell them to shut up. I sit about 4 rows behind. Do you want me to throw things at them?

Fox Talbot In my long experience Reading have always been 'supported' by more than our fair share of miserable oxf*rd but at least on the South Bank you had the sense that most of them had played football to some level and knew what they were moaning about.
Nowadays, jeez. Not sure my tuppence worth helps RL though

Royal Lady I'm asking this, because I am surrounded by fuckwits at the moment. Two women behind do nothing but moan ALL THE BLOODY TIME. Every time the oppo get the ball, the main protagonist goes "here we go, here we go, they're going to score" and, of course, they don't. Kebe can do nothing right for either of them. Ledge was getting stick. But make a good pass, score a goal and they sit there impassively, don't even bloody clap. It takes all my will to stop giving them a right mouthful to be honest. There's also a dreary voiced Welsh bloke who moans constantly - but, again, you never hear him sing, clap or get excited if we score or come close to scoring. WHY DO THEY BOTHER COMING TO GAMES?
Again today, the old bloke in front who remains completely stock still all game, every game, together with his equally boring daughter who also never claps, shouts, celebrates a goal - decided to turn around and tell Schards to stop kicking his seat? WTF? If he did touch his seat, it was once and by accident - that was the first time I'd seen the bloke even move during a game tbf. I don't expect that everyone should be jumping up and down and singing/clapping - but for God's sake, a bit of bloody enthusiasm wouldn't go amiss. I just don't understand how people can be so impassive - and the constant moaning from the people behind is ruining my enjoyment of games these days.

tbf, there were only about 4000 in the whole ground .Fox Talbot In my long experience Reading have always been 'supported' by more than our fair share of miserable oxf*rd but at least on the South Bank you had the sense that most of them had played football to some level and knew what they were moaning about.

Schards#2 I understand that some people have a pessimistic outlook but these people are incredible. I've had to put up with whiners but these people are incredible. If there are howls because Reading aren't gven a free kick, they invariably say "that was a fair challange" if we have a player given offside contentiously, they will say he was miles off. In a one off game, you would be forgiven for thinking they were opposition fans sitting with Reading friends, but it's every game.
We have had four straight home wins and they have moaned through every minute of every one of them, it's staggering. I've been known to moan in the past when we've been horribly underperforming but, right now, we have a team that is performing way above it's level of talent. Whatever you think of the club's lack of ambition, the team on the pitch is outperforming expectations, even if it's not the prettiest football to watch, you can't ask for more than that.
The final straw today was when someone mentioned promotion and one said "promotion? that's the last thing we want".

Farnborough Royal I had a really fat guy sit next to me in B15 yesterday, as a result I ended up almost on my Dad's lap. Fat people should be made to buy two seats IMHO.

I have a monstrous women next to me in the upper west. Thankfully she's only there every 4 games or so, but when she does turn up she glares at me all game for shouting encouragement to the players or complaining about a decision. When we score she refuses to stand, cheer or clap and in the more silent moments of the game I often hear her muttering to her unfortunate husband things like: 'Number 11 is not doing good is he?' and 'we always kick the ball to the other team when we get it, it can't be that hard to score!'
This is not helped by two young girls in front who are constantly getting up out of their seat and running around and climbing on the safety bar (the thing that stops you falling into the crowd as soon as you enter the ground through a gate). And to make it worse there is a 5 year old kid who thinks he knows everything they're is to know about football while constantly shouting things to his dad in the next seat.

Phew-safe,we are in Y21.
Around us is a decent mixture of old gits and young 'uns.
Most of the time I'm yelling for our players and do jump up and clap anything decent or a goal.
I do moan a bit when the ball is wellied from the back for the 29th time in 29 minutes with Church making little or no attempt to challenge for it or when Hunt or Jobi make yet another dive but generally my support is for the players and then talk or moan about things afterwards.
My brother is sanguine but my mate John is destined for a heart attack when he yells at the lino for giving a decision against us.
