FiNeRaIn
Ian Royal Thoroughly agree with Hoop's last two posts.

Yes, but you forgot who you are arguing with...

Reading could play 11 one legged giants and park them in front of the goal allowing no scientific method in which the ball could cross the goal line...melon would still back this approach from the club/team as this is what he does.

obsessed.

you know damn well i will, and have criticise the club when warranted.
only the other week, i said that the new video they play at the start of the game has an overly short gap that encourages badly placed URZZZZZing from the crowd.

the difference between you and i, is that i will look for the positives from any game especially if we win and look at our potential for long term improvement, and you consistently focus and look for the negative. both are valid forms of looking at the game,
i just really cant see why you bother

melonhead im just happy to be playing winning football tbf, with exciting games in terms of late winners, and turnarounds

ill take that over rodgers era passing for no reason losing football any day.

is it better than under coppell. lol. no.obviously.
but brian is building something, like coppell did, and with a bit more time, and confidence and belief, i believe this team can achieve decent football to watch as well as winning football.

you are welcome to your view though, thats fine.

I'm not talking about Rodgers era and how it compares. I'm talking about how we improve on what we have right now, that's all that really matters.

I didn't even think scoring a late winner was that exciting on Saturday. It wasn't like we were really building up towards it or either team were creating a load of chances. It was a set piece that got half cleared and then led to a goal almost out of the blue. That's a great result, and you do have to win ugly of course, but it's not exciting as such.

I guess I'd just like us to win a game that wasn't winning ugly now and again because that's what I go to see (apart from the non-football parts of going to football of course).

Is Brian really building something? Are we getting better? Are we seeing more of a pattern of play developing? Or are we just churning out games looking for the next player or two to excel and keep the club afloat? It sometimes feels like the latter.

Snowball Away from Home

Against a club we rarely do well against

Against a club currently known for "spoiling"

Against a club on a good run and not easy to beat

After a weak win and two poor performances

Two excellent goals

A thoroughly entertaining last five minutes

I call that pretty focking good

Pretty much agree with all of the above.

I actually quite enjoyed the game and particularly the party atmosphere after we scored our second (in the right goal) and then completely throttled the game with some really good keep-ball on the touchline and around the corner flag. I can't remember when I last saw a team do that so well (or the opposition be so poor at winning back possession). The opponents normally end up winning a throw and managing to break back forward for a while but Watford just couldn't do it.

I usually dislike that "playing in the corner" thing, but this
seemed different, like the guys just OOZED confidence

Still second to Sock-ergate though!

we were pressing hard for that goal for most of the second half, only one team looked like winning it, and we did.
i was excited.
before xmas we had 2 x 3-0 wins, which werent ugly in the slightest

imo - yes. yes. yes.no.

thats your view, and like i said thats fine

Thought Kebe was good; dunno what everyone is puking about.

Church was so cack tonight, even his flagwavers can only say improvable fluff like "ran around a lot".

Would it be okay if Church could set himself a higher target than "running"?

So, so, poor.

Other than that, great away win against a dogged boggey team, and yet more evidence of a fit, never give up, spirited team, even if the quality is often lacking.

Yeah, as is yours, I'm just expressing mine for the purpose of discussing both points of view, you know, like you do on a discussion forum.

As for both 3-0's being exciting, well the West Ham game was a great spectacle and I thoroughly enjoyed it but it wasn't really because of the football we played (which is fine, that's often the way). The 3-0 over Brighton was probably the best we've played for a period of the game. That was an entertaining game for the most part. More of that please!

without reading through this drivvle, if anybody has not made Tabb their MOM then there's a serious problem off the the field at RFC. Considering game time and match fitness he had an absolute belter of a game.

Tend to agree as well.

Church did an enormous amount of running and closing down but we don't need a footballer to do that!
Now is probably the best chance that Church will get to step up to the plate, maybe less stamina training and a lot of everything else would be of benefit.

I would love to see Church do well. Unfortunately I think he may have already had 4 months out of the five, of the best chance he would get, I wouldn't be at all surprised to now see another striker brought in.

Trouble is, even Church's closing down is poorly executed. Ok, he ran a long way towards the defender, but that run is wasted if you then run past the defender, resulting in the defender calmly passing the ball forwards to midfield.

He couldn’t win a ball if he entered a raffle in which every ticket won a prize, and every prize was a ball.

oooooo you bitch!

i was just saying neither game was that long ago,
so my earlier point of - you cant have brilliant football every game, and we havent been winning ugly all season, do count imo
i also think the football Vs west ham, was one of the reasons they got so riled, and why it ended up being such an entertaining red card fest

anyway- i appreciate the discussion, thankyou for humouring me

considering those things yes, he did,
but ultimately other people had better games, and most people will assess MOM awards on that basis

Given Cummings has been pretty good there's no need. Last season maybe.

Jem at LB? Yeah, because Karacan is the assist master isn't he?

No thanks. Stick to running around in midfield not passing it to anyone, please. Leave Harte to do the work the centres aren't.

I bet you just LOVE listening to yourself don't you?

Do you record it and play it back while you're in the bath?

I’m surprised you know what a bath is. Personally, you come across like a bit of a leathery, pigeon eating nomad who drinks his own piss and hasn’t taken his trousers off for 17 years.
