Avon Royal West Ham beat Posh, we lose to Posh.

Could well cost us promotion.

what nonsense. we're still a point ahead of them. saturday's result is more defining!

Pompey have their tails up don't forget. Saints winning that is not a forgone conclusion by any stretch. If everything went our way, we could be 2 off Saints on Saturday eve.

COME ON URZ!

Or two points behind West Ham........

And if everything doesn't go our way Southamptn will be out of sight and we will have to make up 2 points and goal difference on West Ham with a much harder run-in.

Tonight's result for West Ham is massive.

Very easy for West Ham, against a team who ran us ragged last Tuesday. I'm worried.

You're a grumpy old fart, you. I don't think I've ever seen you say anything positive on here.

West Ham's home form is iffy. The crowd will get on their back. We have a great chance to take something from the game.

Perhaps you should post this on the "horrible feeling about this season so going to jump off the M4 bridge at J11" thread?

We're a massive game for them now. Not sure the crowd will be so quick to get on their back; most fans rise to big occasions.

Anyone would think its a top v bottom game. We're 2nd FFS & brill away from home. We have every chance of getting something from that game, perhaps even a win.

Keep the faith!!

Not grumpy, just grounded. Not saying we can't win, just pointing out that senseless optimism and straw-clutching (the crowd will get on their backs) isn't actually that constructive.

Why is thinking we can get a result senseless optimism exactly?.....Only West Ham have a better away record than us.

Is senseless pessimism more constructive then?

Nope, it isn't. Just balances out those who are getting carried away.

I wouldn't be trekking across the width of the country on Saturday if I didn't think we could win.
