Arch Amazed at all the hand-wringing over the fourth goal. 3-2 down with seconds to go at Stamford Bridge. What on earth would be the point of defending your goal difference in the second match of the season. Throw everything at the point and if you drop a goal in the process, so be it. The fourth shouldn't enter into either Fed bashing or "what if" scenarios for the game.

Who gives a fcuk about the 4th :| It was the very stoppable 2nd that cost yet more points.

If we can stay up with Federici between the posts we might qualify for Europe without him.

One Beer is never enough. Cech's goalkeeping was of course exemplary tonight because he ended up on the winning side.

Sorry, but who expected any points tonight prior to kick off?

We lost, it was one of those games that we didnt expect to get anything, yes our hopes were raised, but at the end of the day we got what a majority of us expected prior to kick off. I can live with the fact we competed.

And that's exactly the mentality that the officials bank on when officiating small teams playing against big teams, especially at the big teams' places.

We may as well save ourseves the time and effort paying at Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge etc. The dice is loaded. Save ourselves for the matches played on a level playing surface.

leicsRoyal We worked our asses off against the Champions League holders and went down to an offside goal, a keeper error. The fourth only came because we were chasing a goal.

A work rate like that will get us many a point this season,

Great effort lads
Head up Feds
FCUK off linesman.

Spot on, the lads should have bags of confidence after that showing.

That would still be offside anyway.

This. Incredible how the offside rule is still misinterpreted, misunderstood and misquoted time and time again - offside applies at the time the ball is struck, not how it pinballs in between before it arrives at the scorers feet.

And Gorkss didn't touch it anyway.

LOL @ Mr Angry, "Fcuk U, Fcuk U, Fcuk U"
Last time seen in the Griffin (West Ham away)

Great performance by Reading tonight, Proud to support them.
OK, Fedders made a mess of the equaliser, but don't bash him for getting up pitch at the death when we were a goal down, having that extra man in the box could've counted. It didn't work and we got caught short...soo fcuking what. A 4-2 loss vs a 3-2 loss is still a loss. If we'd have equalised, you'd all be full of praise.
Tips hat to Jimmy Kebe having a pint in the Upper Tier with the rest of us mongs and posing for pics

Yep, absulutely superb Mr Angry! And well done to all the travelling Reading fans tonight. You were clearly audible above the Chelsea fans on the internet stream for much of the match. Journo from the Telegraph on Twitter:

"#readingfc terrific against the champions of Europe. Loud fans, Pogrebnyak/Guthrie especially good."

FFS!!!!!!

Were they good goals?

Apparently, Pog's header was nearly as good as Carroll v Sweden!!! according to David Pleat...

went mental when it went in, was a great goal - even better was the build up, any of the top 4 scored it theyd be on about it for weeks

John Madejski's Wallet
Caskeys Lovechild How was the 4th goal allowed to stand?? 1 Reading player between the goal and the ball, which was definitely played forwards. That's Offside too...there must be two players.

Most awful refereeing team in history!?!

errrrr this ^^^^ ?

agreed if its passed forrward its offside but not in this case as it was a pass sideways not forward

Anyone got a link to the actual offside rule? You're confusing the hell out of me here.

another keyboard warrior throwing insults from behind the protection of his keyboard, this subject was covered and cleared up pages ago,go back there and learn to read brave fecking man/boy, the red line is probably an indication of the view the linesman was looking from, which means he wasn`t up with play.
