cmonurz Many on here question if Rhodes would be good enough for the Premier League, and then Nick Powell is considered a good option because he scored 16 goals for Crewe. :|

Just because he'd be cheap.

You know that not everyone colllectively holds the same opinions on here. Rhodes up to £8 mill, Powell a cheap punt on loan if he doesn't work out, send him back in January. I can see the logic there but I'd have liked us to go in for Rhodes. Anyway, Powell, is apparently just a twitter rumour but that also came from twitter so who knows......

Gary Neville: "What the transfer deadline gives you is a clear indication of which are the badly run football clubs!"

I think I'm just struggling to align Zingarevich’s talk of becoming an established Premier League club with taking ‘cheap punts’ at 18 year old League Two strikers (yes, I know he’s a ‘United player’ now). We’ll have to spend money at some point. I do hope there’s something in the Zaha rumours.

Where has the Powell speculation come from? In my opinion it would be a worthwhile signing, a player with bags of ability and will definitely be a star one day. Is he good enough right now to make a difference? Who knows, but it is certainly worth a gamble especially considering I doubt we will pay a penny for his services on loan.

Can't imagine when they said £15m budget they meant wages too. Bear in mind Guthries on 7 figures and year and so is Pog. Both probably on 2/3 year deals.

They either paid a 7 figure signing on fee for Pog or are saving some for Jan when they again realise we should have spent more in the summer

Why buy on the last day of the window?

Panic buys at inflated prices in many cases!!

Glad we done our transfer business early.

I am with you brother.

If we would have purchased him - yes. We could then take our time developing him. But he is not proven at League 1 let alone the Premier League, and I cannot see him getting into the starting line up. What is the point then of taking him on loan? Will be a waste.

Watch us get him and takes to the Prem like a duck to water.
