The manager has been saying we need players with premier league experience. Well he signed two in the summer (on huge wages) but they can't get in the team ahead of championship standard players.

LightwaterRoyal A few players who we could realistically get and would do a job for us

Andrey Arshavin - Much needed creativity in the middle of the park, not getting much game time.
Marko Marin loan - See Arshavin.
Gylfi Sigurdsson loan - Not playing much at Spurs, could do with a loan.
Shola Ameobi or Kevin Davies - (Not exactly what we need but if we are going to insist on hoof ball they are perfect and very experienced).
James Henry - Something different on the wings, can actually put a cross in and I miss him.
Abou Diaby - Quality in midfield, not sure if hes still injured though.

I think you misunderstand the word 'realistically'.

Whats unrealistic about those, ok Sig, Marin and Arshavin are out of our league, but Arshavin is frustrated at Arsenal and Russian, Marin isnt playing at Chelsea and cold be loaned, the same for Gylfi. Rumors going round that Spurs want Moutinho and Cristian Eriksen aswell so he could find himself even further down the pecking order.

Ameobi, Davies and Henry are well within our grasp.

Diaby is coming back from an injury and with Wilshire back in the side could be in the same situation as Arshavin

Wages will prevent us getting any of those, we are skint, unless Anton's dad drops a few more millions into his Christmas stocking

And you believed him ?
Fact is we badly need to buy a functioning midfield in January, lets see if we can afford one.
We will spend less than any other team in the premiership and pick up a couple of journeymen from the chump
and someone on loan from the prem who could not give a toss abut RFC

so we have a 6ft plus striker who thrives off balls played in the air into the box, not kick and chase which we have been doing since going up, one of the best crossers of the ball (not saying his mentality or persona is correct for the club) is Jermaine Pennant. He would at least produce chances for the pog, roberts and hunt. we desperately need some bite in midfield and again would be contacting stoke about Wilson palacos! it is also clear that our back line lacks premier league experience and a certain matt Upson also plays for the same club, none of which are playing muc if at all at the moment and all three would command a fee which realistically not exceed 6-8 million...

if we start creating chances for our strikers the team will start scoring. if we go out and spend multi lillions on overated players now on high salaries we are another pompey/leeds waiting in the wings

If you're expecting 6 plus signings next month you're going to be very disappointed. We will patch the team up in 3-4 positions, and that realistically wont achieve enough. We're going down and we need to start preparing for next season.

Because we do not have any mega rich owners and the money for going up has been spunked on Pog and Pikeys wages

Anton may not be "mega rich" but his father is, and he was also included in the fit and proper persons test. If he wanted to invest his money, then happy days, if not then Anton keeps his promise which was to continue running this club in the same sensible way Madejski did, but with bigger budgets.

And if Anton's dad does not put his money in then where does Anton's "bigger budget" come from ?
He is apparently worth circa 10 million, which is almost broke compared to most premiership owners

Cannot see us signing anyone decent because we are doomed. Likely to get more cowboys from the championship. In reality need to spend big on quality experienced pl pros. One we will not spend and two that calibre of player will sign for a better placed club.

Hope that next two games are not humiliating...

I distinctly remember McDermott saying he tried to get a couple more in on the last day, but the club refused to pay the fees demanded. Suggesting a tiny bit more money was available and we were actively looking.

So either

1) McDermott cocked it up
2) AZ is skint.
3) Or the club continued with their small club mentality and ambition

Anyway now we are going down there is no point in spending money in January. The team should have been assembled in the summer where you have the time to prepare. January is a time for tweaking not completely rebuilding.

McDermott either had to go after the Villa match or not at all.

Keep McDermott now, blood the youngsters, try and build a team that can pass the ball and learn from the mistakes this year (Transfer Policies).

yeah we are, because we haven't spent silly money on some of the shower that's just been mentioned.

we won't sign anyone on loan that we couldn't sign permanently.

I also don't remember that. It doesn't sound like something McDermott would say either.

Yeah. Losing to Arsenal means it's our season over!
