jmartin542 we need an andy johnson of crystal palace to save us

Any relation to Andy Johnson who is on the books at QPR ?

If you engage your brain it's quite easy to presume the OP means Andy Johnson as he was for Palace at the time he played for them.

jmartin542 the slowest moving man in the world, Mikele Leigertwood

Amazing how "the world" seems to consist solely of people who are currently in Reading's starting XI.

Brynjar Gunnarsson was the slowest man in the world.
Then Ivar Ingimarsson was.
Then Andy Griffin.
Then Ian Harte.
Now Mikele Leigertwood (who is actually quite fast- have you ever watched him dribble?)

I think we need a right back and someone who can act as a link between attack and midfield. Ideally we'd see more of Guthrie, and add a central midfielder who can track a runner. Beyond that, we should assess Morrison's injury, and if it looks like he'll be out for a while, we should add an experienced centre back and try to palm Gorkss off to a Championship side- we can't risk an injury to Pearce or Mariappa.

It's not about ability, it's his stinking attitude. We wouldn't go near him!

No point signing a load of poor pl players or good championship players.. We have enough of them. Unless we can get in quality better not to bother.

Arshavin, Huddlestone and their like yes.. Players that cannot get into the villa team would be a worry especially as Villa are playing a bunch of kids! The Zambian defender is probably not coming now as he buggering off to the silly Cup of Nations in Africa that gets in the way of most things!

People want a new experienced right back to come in and do a similiar job to Andy Griffin, I wonder if Paolo Ferreira is in Rafa Benitez' plans.

CDM and a striker are all that's needed. Need a Long-type player who will run the channels and has a lot of pace. All we have are 4-4-2 strikers and IMO that's why we haven't scored yet whilst playing 4-5-1.

Nothing to do with us playing 9 players in our own box for most of a game then?

This is a somewhat embarrasing post.

As you can see I don't have many posts. I prefer to lay low. I don't live in Reading. Have lived in London for four years, and before that Exeter for three, i'm only 25 as is my informant. But, for once in my life i believe i'm ITK.

My good friend lives in Marlow, near Mr McDermott's local hang out, and has done so for 3 years. Brian is a regular of sorts and over time has built up a few people who he can presumably trust. My mate has let him down by telling me about a one off conversation they had in passing. (Apparenlty they have played golf together a two-three times)

My friend has told me that Brian has stated that he spent all that was available to him in the summer, and it wasn't a 'Coppell' case of not spending more because he thought he had filled the positions what he wanted.

I realise this is an underwhelming post, but FWIW i believe my friend, he is a vague Arsenal fan, fairly non-plussed with football, with no axe to grind. So I believe him on the quotes.

In which case, you can either:

1) Think that Brian fluffed what he had available, which wouldn't exactly promote confidence in his future Premier League signings, or you can
2) Blame TSI's lack of spending for all our short comings.

I don't mind which. I also don't mind if people think this is a pompous post, form someone who knows nothing.

All I personally feel is that Mariappa, McCleary, Guthrie, Pog and Shorey had the potential to be good enough but it hasn't played out that way.

Perhaps January will be different. I do believe that Brian will spend every penny that is in his wages/aquisitions budget. Whether it is spend wisely or with Value for Money will only be known come 38 games.
