blueroyals CDM and a striker are all that's needed. Need a Long-type player who will run the channels and has a lot of pace. All we have are 4-4-2 strikers and IMO that's why we haven't scored yet whilst playing 4-5-1.

So if we play 451, who is going to create?

All our strikers can score goals with the right kind off service, we are crying out for a creative midfielder

Franchise FC
LightwaterRoyal People want a new experienced right back to come in and do a similiar job to Andy Griffin, I wonder if Paolo Ferreira is in Rafa Benitez' plans.

That's a really good shout.

I said it ages ago, would prefer Hibbert though

Yep we looked useless going forward against swansea apart from 15 mim spell we created little.
Only at set pieces do we look dangerous and sometimes those are embarassing!
Must sign at least one play maker.Plus only Roberts looks like he can hold the ball up. Our final ball from wide is dreadful too.

If BM thinks we can stay up with our current squad then he has lost it. We hardly put more than 3
Passes together.

Wang this here as it smells of media spaculation - http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... um=twitter

Former Wigan right-back Steve Gohouri has admitted he would be interested in a return to the Premier League.

Gohouri, 31, currently plays for Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv but has been linked with a move to Reading or Southampton.

Players coming in - January Window Speculation

by royalsteve » 29 Dec 2012 01:15

Well, thought i may as well start this one off.

Firstly i dont think we'll sign loads of players. Secondly, i think our best option is loans because we wont shell out the cash on players given our predicament and would be a massive problem if we go down. Getting loans would de-risk that issue. Plus, how many decent players would want to come to little old Reading and our league position makes that issue even worse.

So, our best hope is loans, sprinkled with a permie or two from the championship or league 1. I reckon we'll bring in 4 players max though.

POTENTIAL LOANS
Stewart Downing
Michael Dawson
Some people have suggested Andre Arshavin - would he be up for the fight?
Ricardo Carvalho - old defender but has experience we need - would he be up for the fight?
Joe Cole - would he be up for the fight?

POTENTIAL BUYS
Danny Graham £5m
Tom Ince (Blackpool) £3-5m
Charlie Austin (Burnley) £3-5m -
Wilfred Zaha (C Palace) - £5-7m - i reckon a big will get him though and prob too much money for us to gamble on an unproven Premier League player
Will Hughes (Derby) - £3-5m as above, even Barcelona are tracking him!! - he looks really good though -only 17 but would be a great investment imo
Gary Cooper (Celtic) - £3-5m

Just posted on another thread - if we're really looking at right-backs, Luke Young isn't in QPR's 25-man PL squad.

We already have two players deemed not good enough for QPR in the Premiership, Young is not in the 25 for exactly the same reasons

What he is is not as good as Da Silva or Bosingwa. Wouldn't make him no good for us. Is just the sort of experienced and steady player we are lacking.

I know this guy has been mentioned in this forum before, Robert Koren from Hull City? I think he would add that creative piece that we are currently missing in our midfield. He would also not break the bank in transfer fee and wages, definitely a player within our means.

yea it has been mentioned, most of us on here would love to have him. hull city are doing really well in the championship so i doubt theyll sell him due to him being a main reason.

We are criying out for a creative midfielder. But we can do better than Koren

You're all being silly, we need to spend money ONLY on achieving a cat1 academy.

Even though it will take years and there's no guarantee well get it.

So forget any investment in January.

Thanks.

Gunnarsson won't go, but probably excluded from the 25.

Could actually see Roberts going, his contract is up in the summer, he's been riddled with injuries and he'll be 35 in January.

He can still do a job but with him hitting 36 next season would they want to commit a squad place if they can get someone younger with more long term potential?
