soggy biscuit
Green What's the origin of this?

I've heard people say it dates back 30 years or so, but I can't remember hearing it on the South Bank circa 1995 - 1998.

Notts County fans sang it during the original first ever association football match.

Sheffield FC, the actual oldest football club in existence.

(Un)interesting fact.....I went to Sheffield FC's 150th anniversary game, against Inter Milan, at Bramall Lane. Pele was there as guest of honour. Balotelli and Materazzi played for Inter. Super Mario scored several goals but spent most of the game sulking. Pele was regailed with chants of 'Pele's got a stiffy' from a small section of locals.

melonhead defo heard T&J at elm park during that time

unless you mean oddie, in which case i cant remember- though th emadonna song was from the early 90s

Don't recall ever hearing T&J at Elm Park. To be honest I thought both came out of the Beard Days and I thought they only started at the Mad Stad.

Spot on.

What's "Spot on" about that? Beard Days preceded the the Mad Stad.

RWC, because it appears there is some discrepancy over Bill's origins, and the fact that for most of the away games in the late 80s early 90s the only way to "enjoy" watching Reading away was to drink your body weight in Diamond White, my memory is a little hazy, I have carried out some interspaz detective work.

Erotic was not released by Madonna until October 1992.

Looking at our fixtures for the 92/93 season we played away at Mansfield on the 28th of December, a 1-1 draw. I was at the game in question, unfortunately/probably under the influence of 8.2% rocket fuel, but I don't think this is the one. I think more likely was the game later in the season away at Blackpool on the 12th of March 1993. A 1-0 away win from the best header I have ever seen from Jimmy Quinn on the edge of the area. The game was also memorable for me by my best mate being arrested for the then new offence of being drunk when entering a sports ground. The copper saying my mates eyes were glazed over despite him wearing ray ban sunglasses at the time!

So I am starting to get there I think but interested to see I this rings any bells with anyone else! Maybe we need to have a 20 year anniversary Bill Oddie celebration around the nearest match, home to Villa on the 6th of March.

Cheers Mr O. Gary Purser wrote an account of the RDS trip and I just could be arsed leafing through my old TTB's to find it.

Mansfield was always a dodgy game for me. I managed to hit a lorry one year and tear a chunk off the side of the car and the following season I lost one of my glass lenses.

Great days.

Ha ha! No I'm not. He posts occasionally as Uncle Andy if that helps. We are good mates though.

The best chant ever. Heard it at Elm Park and regularly away over the years. Sing it in the lower west and you do see people move their kids to safety! It does need some explaining!
Sang it behind the goal, standing on a terrace at Crawley Town in the cup recently. Saw the stewards raising their eyebrows and struggling to hear the words. Great chant, although it does sound different to the Madonnas tune it started as.

Alexander Litvinenko It's about the only thing that is genuinely our own creation and associated with Reading - rather than something nicked from another team or foisted onto us by the club's marketing department.

It's our Deliah or our "Boing, Boing"

This.
