Royal Lady This reminds me why I rarely bother with The Team board these days - you are all so up yourselves, you don't even notice a blatant wind up ffs. Neil Atkins - Lolz.

The only thing I can plead in my own defence is severe jet lag! I truly didn't even notice the Neil Atkins bit!

Don't know the content of the article but what stunt is he trying to pull here. For a guy that always talked about the next game and live in the now, he always talks about the past.

It's sad when ex-managers decide to say ridiculous things like this, McDermott did a remarkable job to get us in the Premier league, but at that level he was seriously found out. The point that he should remember is we took him from being long distance scout and gave him the opportunity to manage us. Maybe should have waited a few games before waxing lyrical about his "huge" club, just in case he turns out to be a dismal failure............

.... so you haven't read the article but will assume that McDermott said these things. It's the oxf*rd tabloid press.

At least now we have Adkins in charge, who despite being here for over four months has yet to sign a striker.

Yeah, it's not like 2 different strikers have scored in our first 2 games :!:

Or we're playing with fewer strikers than previously anyway and have signed an extra forward.

Or that we have two very expensive players in Roberts and Pog on very high wages.

Plus Le Fond who got a dozen or so last season, and Blackman, who was scoring for fun at Sheff Utd.

11 goals, including 6 penalties, in 28 League One games = "scoring for fun"?

LOL

When you are manager of a club like Leeds you play up on their history, the size of the club both in the past and potentially in the future as that is what is important to the fans and the City. When you are manager of Reading you play on living in the now, enjoying the success that you are currently having because you haven't had it before and being the underdog who does it your own way.

It's picture of a typical tabloid headline with no context involved, tweeted by a complete cock end and posted on here by another complete cock end. No need to get your pitchforks out.

None of their other strikers were scoring for fun as he finished the season as their top scorer despite leaving in January.

All that matters is the goals scored figure.
