I would have say there were an unprecedented number of individual errors in those defeats.

As there usually is when a team concedes a goal. (Ref; MOTD)

Show me a goal and I'll show you a mistake.

Einstein agogo I don't really like him as a person or as a manager.
I haven't really got so pissed off since the Liverpool Manager took us down to the depths of the Table.

Absolutely this - no idea what it is - but can't take to Adkins and couldn't take to Rodgers. I think we were spoiled by both Coppell and McD being more down to earth men and seemingly nicer people, for whatever reason.

Would you say your dislike of them is driven by the people themselves, or that they replaced the people you did like?

Good question, but I loved Maurice Evans and still didn't dislike Bullivant, Pardew, McGhee etc like I do Adkins and did Rodgers.

Sure, when Pardew and McGhee did the dirty on us, I disliked them intensely, but while they were with us and even when we had awful showings under Bullivant, I didn't dislike any of them or feel I couldn't identify with them. I don't reckon I ever saw Rodgers smile and same goes for Nige really - they both seem a bit too up themselves - I could be doing them a terrible wrong by saying this, but that's just how I feel I'm afraid. I'm sure their families love them.

I don't have to like someone if they are doing a good job (which he's never been guilty of since the day he walked through the door :| ) but, frankly, all his post match interviews are an insult to most fans.

Utter clichéd bollox of the highest order with only a slightly conceiled threat to stomp off in the night if anyone dares ask a question he doesn't like.

The man is an arrogant twat who has been a doing sh+t job here for far longer than his apologists deemed sufficient to sack McDemott when we were struggling to survive on a shoestring at a higher level.

Apart from the fact that if we'd been a consistent fixture in the bottom three at any point for the last season and a quarter Adkins would have gone with few arguments.

'Seemingly' says it all. IIRC most, if not all, of the people who have had the opportunity to meet and interact with Nigel Adkins have said that he is a really nice, down to earth, guy. That includes residents of Winchester (but maybe they are considered too posh, even by our Waitrose crew!).

One other thought, when businesses start to go down the pan and/or hit rough times; it's often down to the actions/inaction of those who were at the helm several years earlier.

Yep, thought of as a genuinely decent bloke round here. Was in a barbers the other day and it turns out our Nige has his hair cut there and they couldn't have been more complimentary about him.

Doesn't necessarily make him a good manager - but it is laughable to see people get personal with insults about a guy based on a few interviews with Rimmed Tellor.

My point was basically that those who have actually met and spent time with Nigel think he's a stand up guy, whereas those who think he's an 'arrogant twat' are only basing it on a few soundbites off of radio and TV.

Can see why that might have struggled to permeate your exceptionally thick skull Leon, but hopefully a few of the more intelligent posters might have understood what I was trying to say.

You were trying to say that, because he comes across as a nice bloke in a barbers shop in Winchester, this deems any suggestion that he's an arrogant twat of a manager to be "laughable"

In your "desperate not to be proved wrong" little brain, this is an argument that can only be understood by you and your equally delusion friends.

Might aswell wait until January now and actually make some signings... Could of done with some loans a few months back.

But would seem the owners are still backing him as manager. Adkins IN btw

No, not quite. Good effort though. :)

I'm saying that he is universally thought of as an excellent bloke in a city where he has lived for the past 5 years. You also won't be able to find a Southampton/Scunny fan with a bad thing to say about him as a person, likewise any Reading fans who have actually spent time in his presence.

Whereas those who go around spouting off about him being 'arrogant', 'uninterested', 'stubborn' have pretty much to a person never met him.

Now I'm no history scholar, but even I can figure out which of those two bits of evidence is more reliable by way of provenance.
