Apart from having character and skill in abundance he tried, really tried, 100% every match. The fans loved him for that as much as for his character and skill.
If you were there and have a different view, fine. If you weren't there then shut up and feck off.

It was his tremendous efforts in every game that quickly made him my favourite player before I actually realised just what a brilliantly skilful player he really was.

And he always made time to speak to the fans, even us pesky kids (I lost count of how many times I got his autograph), even when he was late!

From Despair To Where?
RoyallyFcuked The fact there has been virtually no footage of the film shown, and the fact we still don't know who any of the cast are going to be, suggests to me its nowhere near close to watchable.

Corrected for you.

It has "Straight to DVD" written all over it. They'll be giving copies away with every £10 spent in the Megastore a week after it's released.

That would be a real shame. If done properly, the story and movie have the potential to do really well IMO. I think any football fan would like it, and there is no reason why it couldn't be interesting to someone who doesn't care for football either.

Sadly though, you could be right.

I might have been thinking of Vinny Samways.

The U21 have just beat AV 5-1 and that's all you can say. You must be his Dad.

I thought we were discussing Robin Friday The Movie.
If you want to change the topic of conversation, go ahead...
In fact, I'll kick us off...
Great win by the U21s. Must bode well for the future.

Fair enough. I apologise for the light-hearted attack. Credit to you for not lowering yourself to respond in a like-minded manner. I confess I do get protective in respect of Reading's Greatest Ever Footballer.

Apology accepted. I didn't even realise Vinny Samways had played for Reading, so sorry if I offended anyone.

:P

I don't really remember Samways or that game tbh but I had the review of that season on DVD and remembered the line,

" A 4th minute goal from veteran Vinny Samways gave the visitors all 3 points"

An utterly shit match won with a free kick to the left of the area about 30yds which Samways would claim he meant but I'm convinced was a misshit cross which went in at the near post.

Yep, thats the one. Except I think it was taken from the right, with his left foot and went in at the near post. You're right though, pretty sure it was cross not a shot.
