P!ssed Off The worst game I've ever seen.
I doubt the linesman on the West side would agree as he didn't seem to see any of the game.

Chalobah at centre back was a strange decision. Cooper must have been gutted.

I think Clarke should take a huge chunk of the blame for lastnight.

A bit of continuity and playing a natural CB would have provided better balance against Wigan.

I'm not saying playing Cooper would have definitely changed the result and performance. But i think it would have provided better balance and maybe given a different outcome.

Can't wait until Hector is back though.

Talking of lack of goals, it is now almost 3.5 months since we last scored a goal at the North Stand end, Rotherham in early November.

It was a pretty bad display but I've seen Reading play far worse that that in the late 80's and early 90's before McGhee came along.

It reminded me of just how badly Blackpool played against us earlier on in the season.

Surely losing 1-3 to Barnsley last season was worse than this.

No wonder why Wigan won last night. Must have felt right at home in a half empty stadium.

Fortunately ,it sounds, I couldn't get there last night but it was ominous when Paul Walsh on Sky reported after about 30 minutes that it was the worst game he has seen this season.
It seems as though Adkins neighbour Winch is the only one to have posted with any positives which is rare when we only lost the game 1-0-the comments are more like you would expect after those home games v Palace and Bristol Rovers when we conceded 6.
It is starting to feel a bit like the Simod cup season and we all know how that season ended-a Trophy plus relegation.

These players are not very good and we have far too many on comfy contracts who are spineless when the going gets tough.
Nothing much can be done other than breaking the bank and bringing in on loan a couple of hardened relegation fighters in the Parky,Gooding, Hurlock mould-those were fighters (in Hurlock's case maybe more of a fighter than a footballer) but could also play whereas our current lot can all play a bit but mainly lack fight.
It really annoys me when the likes of Kanu and Blackman in particular chicken out of 50/50s-McCleary may be nearly as bad but he does look threatening at least for part of most games.
Perhaps they need a month of Martin Allen or Wally Downes who aren't much good for the long term but might prove useful in the short term to engender a bit of heart.

TFF
ZacNaloen Got to be up there with the worst Reading performance I've seen.

Even when we were clogging away in the bottom two leagues at Elm Park the games were largely enjoyable.

I certainly can't think of worse in the modern era. Even the Bristol Rovers defeat.

At least back then the players gave at least half a shit. Yesterday, we didnt seem bothered. We didnt seem to want it.

I'm starting to think, although Clarke is a far better manager, that its the players who are unprofessional.

I'm looking forward to a full scale clearout in the summer. Hopefully that will be for the Championship

I wouldn`t bet on that. on last nights display there isn`t a worse side in the whole division, and I am including Blackpool .

Had some business in the Reading area yesterday and was in the hotel having supper when someone told me Reading were playing that night. Looked at my watch and it was too late to make the game.

Sounds like I had a lucky escape so it's not all bad news.

Years from now 14000 of us will be proud to say I was there the night we played Wigan in February 2015.

I won't rate the players-suffice to say that none of them would get more than a 4 and one player nothing.

Feds: What was he thinking of ?
Kelly : Probably our best player-not saying much.
Obita : Had problems all night in defence & attack.
Pierce: Even below his usual poor standard.
Chabola : Who ever told SC he was a centre half ? Refused to make a tackle-his passing was abysmal and headers just as bad.
Norwood: Whisper it possibly better than against Leeds.
Williams: Headless chicken.
Mc Leary : Not remotely interested.
Cox : What was the point ?
Pog: Lumbered from one area of the field to the next-well after the ball had gone.
Kanu: Some people have rated him MOM-but that was because he was hardly involved.

Ref: At least he gave 11 minutes of extra time, but totally inadequate.

My theory: We are one game away from Wembley & no one wanted to get injured.

No, they're saving that performance for the visit to Bradford.

So they can be on National TV.
