Questions about the game from Bradford fans

by PieEater » 10 Mar 2015 09:28

As Bradford fans appear to be some of the nicest supporters around I thought we should have a thread for them about their imminent visit to the Mad Stad where we can answer their questions and make them feel welcome.

So fire away with questions about parking, pubs, officious stewards, pies etc

Don't spoil the occasion - before you know they'll be singing Reading's a shithole and they want to go home.

So nice they had a welcome party for us at the crossroads after the game  Did no one else notice their mob of 50 odd in stone island?

Or the fights at the train station.

Or the kids trying to start fights on the walk back from the ground.

Or the punches thrown on the walk to the ground.

I'm so pleased their online presence is nice though

I saw zero trouble all day. I walked to and from the station and drank in the city beforehand. Maybe some people just look for it??

Bradford fans came on here telling what we wanted to hear, said they'd respect us in the morning and then haven't called back

Nope, few Bradford likely lads by us saw a load of Reading kids walking up to the ground singing a few shit songs and said "let's go an give it to 'em" before running over.

Nothing more than posturing and a few flailing fists before the OB got in the middle of it.

There was a useful looking group of Bradford at the Ginger Goose? think it was called just down from the Interchange. They were ok though, just minding their own unless you wanted to know which is how it should be.

Yeah we took the Ginger Goose before the game, was easier than expected.

So basically, they're the same as us only they don't have buses from the station to the ground.

I guess we could start there, There is a football bus to/from Reading station number F1. Away fans seem to struggle to find it after the game and on occasion they are allowed to get on the local buses and end up the other side of Reading - They correct ones to the station are the ones queued up down the hill near the side of B&Q.

With the game on national television I'd advise all Bradford supporters not to bother visiting just about the least interesting/enjoyable venue* of the 85 current league grounds I have visited. No pubs nearby unless you enjoy drinking in a carvery. Save your money for Wembley.

* I'd probably put the Britannia Stadium on a par with our ground as an unappealing venue to visit, some of the other 'new' grounds such as Derby at least have some decent pubs within walking distance.
