So yes, support the team, but no, don't wear a replica shirt? :?

I suppose a timid face sums the comment up, another west stander comment who'd prefer to restrict support to hand clapping.

No reason why anyone should not wear a replica shirt.

Fans who leave before the final whistle....not the fact they leave, that doesn't bother me at all unlike some on here as I am sure they have their reasons, but just concentrate on leaving rather than watching the match as you shuffle past me.

Fans who can't get the right players when they are shouting abuse (e.g. "Jordan, you muppet", when it was Williams who perhaps had skewed a pass).

The ranters on phone-ins who never dial in when we (used to) win.

The sun in March and October shining between the top of the West stand and the roof. OK, perhaps a little picky.

Pepe the Horseman Kes, have you ever celebrated Liverpool losing, even though it didn't affect Chelsea?

Even if I did - that's completely different to celebrating a team losing who isn't even in your division. :|

How's it different if it doesn't affect your team regardless?

Any game in the SAME division can affect your team. If Liverpool are waaaaaay down the league and have a good win the week before they play the Champions Chelsea, it will give them confidence going into that game.............

No Fixed Abode Pedestrians risking their lives on the A33 just because they can't be arsed to wait for the traffic lights.

Cars that go straight through the red lights at the end of the game cos they won't wait. Sorry to say but an accident waiting to happen!

The state of the pitch when we used to have one to be proud of.

The feeling that we are on a downward spiral

The belief that all we need to do is promote all the youngsters and we will challenge for promotion

No real captain

The fact that parts of the crowd hate most of the other parts of the crowd

Realising that most of the other teams ARE actually better than you

PeterReadingborn59 No reason why anyone should not wear a replica shirt.

It's uncool, apparently.

Now, that makes some sense if you are a genuine supporter of a club like Manchester United, and you want to stand apart from the merchandise-clad day-trippers, showing you're a real supporter and not one of them.

There are no day-tripping tourists at Reading though, so it doesn't really apply. Nobody is going to assume a Reading fan in a shirt is a fan from Devon who supports Reading because he saw them on tv, and is making his only ever trip to the ground.

The thing that annoys me most is turning up expecting the game to be crap, and that we probably won't score.

1. The pre match players huddle is shit, really shit.
2. Minutes silence for just about any Tom, Dick or Harry that dies, and also the dramatic guttural 'yes' from Y26 when it finishes.
3. Sweet Caroline too. FFS, this is a football match.
4. Y26 and the dirge that they chant.
5. Inflatables, and yes that includes the final game of the season, if you participate then you have taken Sky TV's shilling.
6. Big flag and Mexican wave pre-match nonsense.
7. Fans from the East Stand that ignorantly think the West Stand people aren't passionate (having sat their a couple of times I have found that they are very passionate and that from there the East Stand appears to lack passion)
8. Fans that boo players thinking it will encourage them, or booing for whatever reason.
9. Hob nobbers with poste match analyse every detail and tactic of the game fantasising that they are the Manager.
10. The BBC Berkshire poste match phone in and reading out text messages that just say 'come on you R's.
11. Music after a goal, another Sky Shilling. It's just so 'copy cat', and, shit.
12. Me, I'm getting bored.

oxf*rd me this thread is more depressing than a Telegraph obituary. Stop moaning or piss off and watch Arsenal, our club is cringey, accept it, get over it and support the team. And for god sake stop trying to make us into something different, no every club can be like Leeds

What's the significance of "like Leeds"?

If you mean behind the scenes then the way our club has been run in recent years we've been giving it a bloody good go.

Think the oldbiscuit is in an end of season depression, without the things listed you might as well go to a park match. Let's hope the summer away from the Mad Stad will renew everyone's desire, particularly the players who were going through the motions too often and taking the easy option of a square or backward pass.

Clue was in the thread title.

By all means, start a thread entitled "Things that delight you when you watch Reading". I am sure the number of responses will be similar...

This. Still not renewing my ST though - which is sad after 30 odd years but I just can't get excited anymore or look forward to games.

I had the misfortune to need petrol when passing Swindon and pulled into a Sainsburys store to fill up, after paying I returned to find my car had a new scratch mark down the side, I presume from a "Swindon" fan after he saw a Reading FC stick on my car windscreen. So if Swindon get promotion ..............
