Windsor 0-3 Longlevens - didn't expect this one - well at least the margin of defeat - presumably 'levens were the archetypal 'big strong uncomplicated Gloucs boys' -as they were when I saw them a while back. On that occasion however they weren't able to overcome a more 'street-wise' Highmor/IBIS. Windsor back at Stag Meadow on Tue for the visit of RWBT

I wasn’t at this game as it was my bro’s 60th - good one to miss by the sounds of it. (Wish I’d missed the Reading game as well.)

However even the Windsor chaps who can often be a bit downhearted / negative after a defeat felt it was just one of those games.

(Keaton August came off the bench for us which was a surprise to me.)

...fairly negative night all round for our 'local' sides including some real humblings at the upper end: ( a few bright points though)

FAC3Q Replay Billericay {SIX} 6-1 Hungerford  :(

NAT
Aldershot 1-1 v Dag & Red
Chester 0-2 Woking
Torquay 4-0 Maidenhead Utd :o

ILP
Tooting & M 0-7 {SEVEN} Staines

CCLP
Godalming 2-2 Camberley
H.Villa 1-1 Knaphill
Walton & H 0-3 Guildford

HELLP
Flackwell 4-2 Brackley Saints
OC Nomads 1-5 Bracknell
Thatcham 1-2 Highworth
- was at this : big crowd too around 180 odd - Highworth were far better all over the park and their big no 9 Aysa Corrick would be a threat at the level above:- big strong and very quick - tore holes through the 'Kingfisher' back line all evening and was well supported. Scored a great individual goal with a turn and blistering break followed by a smart chip over Rackley in the hosts goal. They are now 12 wins from 12 and 5 points clear of Flackwell who have played a game more. Bracknell a further 3 points back.
Up next for HIghworth is a total mismatch in the Challenge Cup vs poor, pointless and very leaky Div 1W basement side Tytherington Rocks - would imagine the Premier side will rest a good number of their first team squad and still coast to a big victory

Wantage 4-0 Woodley
Windsor 0-1 RWBT - Stag Meadow lads marooned in mid-table with the lower half gaining ground on them. Bassett up to 6th.

HELLENIC Div One E
Henley 0-1 Wallingford
Holyport 1-1 Virginia Water

Monday night at Scours I witnessed HIghmoor getting humbled by lowly Burnham - 0-1. You have to be spectacularly below par to get beaten by them. Home side reduced to 10 men (as is their habit  ) as early as 5'.
Marcus didn't even bother to lumber on for a late cameo to try and chase the game - wasn't at his most vociferous either. Probably already weighing up his options and reportedly he has now walked away from the club.

Will round up the Cup results from tonight in due course - was full set of ties in the Southern League.

I ended up going along too and would agree with pretty much all of that, especially on Corrick who was excellent against two very good centre backs for that level. I was surprised to see he's not scored more goals for Highworth this season though.

Official attendance was 222 and although it was a pretty even first half, that Thatcham may well have edged on good chances, Highworth were much the better side in the second half and could've won by more if the Thatcham keeper hadn't had such a good night.

Sounds like Bracknell going for 2nd then, which hopefully will be enough this season. Looks like they have their mojo back so could still chase Highworth. Early days still..

It's Highworth's to lose now, but there will still be twists and turns, especially with the games remaining between those top sides. They looked pretty strong though.

Thatcham and Bracknell are realistically fighting for second spot along with Flackwell though, unless something happens to derail Highworth (players can get their heads turned for a bit more cash at that level for starters).

As it stands...
Flackwell P13 Pts 31
Bracknell P12 Pts 28
Thatcham P11 Pts 27

Biggest risk for Highworth will be keeping their team together.

Saw them in the FA Cup v London Colney (Spartan League Winners) and they basically have players of Step 3 & 4 ability.

It's all looking good at the Simplyhealth City Ground at the moment. 8)

The Step 3 reorganisation at the end of this season means this is the easiest it's going to be to get promoted for the foreseeable. Nothing is won at this stage of the season though and we have some tough games coming up against other promotion contenders this month - Bristol Manor Farm, Taunton and Salisbury.

These games will tell us how good we really are, rather than a win over a side in the bottom half of the table, who played with 10 men for 89 minutes.

We sent out a youth team in the League Cup on Tuesday and lost to Totton. Previously we've made an effort in this sort of tournament, No one is complaining on our board, except the resident trolling Alresford fan. A couple of weeks ago, we didn't have a saturday game due to FA Cup qualifying fixtures, so sent the first team out mid week against a step 7 team in the County Cup (and stuffed them), to give them a run out - Looks to me like our manager has is getting things right. :)

I note that Bracknell have this week re-signed goal machine TJ Boahene from Swindon on dual registration so that should liven things up - presuming he gets to play enough games.

... think at the outset they came across as a bit 'up themselves' if that's anatomically possible!

Took on part of the mantle of another S.Mids club - whose name currently escapes me  ( Kentish Town) - that bumbled around the north London area upsetting all and sundry for about 10 mostly sorry years.

Tok M - were sort of enfranchised out of the evicted Ruislip Manor club around about 2008.

In one form or other they (Kentish Town) had finally settled at Barnet Copthall but made no friends and had virtually no supporters. The few they had included an infamous SSM Troll - who regularly got himself banned/muzzled on the S.Mids & NL forums.

I think much of Tok M's perceived unpopularity, stemmed from the fact they inherited a lot of ill-feeling engendered by this individual who jumped ship/was shoved out by Kentish Town - he would regularly trumpet their merits and their 'international class' coaching staff.

The reality was somewhat different and once made homeless by 'Stones allegedly for non-payment of fees - they moved into the ill-fated Avenue Park off the A40 - a graveyard for many small clubs around the area - seems anyone associated with the ground joined a litany of bankrupcy/demotions or moved pronto.

Don't recall ever having the privilege of witnessing Tok M in their former guise - they were kept on life- support down in the Middlesex County Leagues and have tried another re-incarnation as this 'London Rangers' gang that have slipped rather unnoticed into the lower reaches of he Hellenic.

Did get to see Kentish Town at the Copthall Arena though - about 7 years ago - huge ground for a club of that size, they were finally ousted when a Rugby Union club (Saracens) took root there.

Highmoor IBIS 0 v 2 Windsor

I believe Highmoor have had a player sent off in every game this season. Today they ended with 9 men, Windsor with 10, although we also had a player booked twice who stayed on the pitch.

I was told Scours Lane was a dump and as I drove into the ground a rat ran across the path! (I’ve been to worse grounds though.)

... not in two of the games (out of three) that I've seen them play in, where they've performed admirably against strong in-form visitors (Bracknell and Newport Pagnell)
I suspect they may have reverted somewhat to type now Coultress (and perhaps Shane S-K) may be temporarily holding the reins - I belive they were in part-charge of a former regime. It may sound far-fetched but Marcus had performed minor miracles, keeping their disciplinary transgressions to a minimum ..... by their former standards.

Good result for Windsor after some recent set-backs - in all senses H/I are rarely an easy opponent - but can be self-destructive.

AthleticoSpizz Much of a crowd there Roth?

Did BH play?

Used to take my lad to Scours "back in the day" to watch RTFC .the only rat there then was Roly

I believe the crowd was quoted as 89. Half of those were from Windsor.

Yes Hayles did play. Still useful but he’s lost his sharpness in front of goal big time.

And reports were exaggerated it seems - Highmoor have had just the 9 players sent off this season.

Marcus R only resigned on Wednesday. He was at the game however and had a chat with some of the Windsor fans after the game apparently.

... thought I oughta highlight an astonishing turnaround scoreline tonight in the Southern Prem:

... our very own Sluff were 4 down away at Pennydarren Pk (Merthyr) by the 21' - Rebels got a goal back on 50' and by the 93rd minute had won 5-4! :D

In Southern 1 East HandY conceded 2 in injury time to lose 2-3 at Kempston.

In the Trophy Replays this week: Fleet Town lost at Yate and Marlow succumbed 3-5 at Aveley

There were some Hellenic League games scheduled but most NL fixtures this midweek seem to be Cup games

On Monday at Rivermoor/Scours - Woodley 1-1 Thatcham

Tonight's results

HELLP
Burnham 0-2 Ascot
HELL1E
Bicester 3-2 Chinnor
Milton 0-1 Thame Rangers

In the B&B Senior Cup Bracknell bt Step04 Aylesbury 6-0
