Four Of Clubs ... thought I oughta highlight an astonishing turnaround scoreline tonight in the Southern Prem:

... our very own Sluff were 4 down away at Pennydarren Pk (Merthyr) by the 21' - Rebels got a goal back on 50' and by the 93rd minute had won 5-4! :D

:( :o :x  - :)  :D 8)
Commentary on the last few minutes including the equaliser and winner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2BIJ4J82YY&feature=youtu.be
Should hopefully put a few on the gate for the FAC4Q match against Folkestone Invicta this Saturday

Shaw Lane Aquaforce FC (former name as of last year but what a gr8 name) beat Barrow from 2 leagues above them in the FA Cup. This team may be one to watch out for. Only formed in 2011/12 and won their regional league (Sheffield and Hallam county) div 1 and then Prem straight away, then 2nd in the Northern counties east league div 1 and THEN won northern counties Prem league (if you have lost count that is 4 promotions in a row in their first 4 years of existence). Now in the Northern premier league division 1 South (What a bizarre name for a league that is). They came 2nd and then won it the next season to be in the Northern premier league this season. Currently they are joint top on 33 points to go upto the conference north (which is a notoriously tricky league to get out from).

^ even, and despite their short history, had a player (Daniel Wilkinson 26) collapse and die on the pitch in a league match against Brighouse last September.

Also knocked out the mighty Dolly Blues in the round preceding the Barrow game :|

But are they stable financially or may they suddenly collapse?

Four Of Clubs ... tomorrow's NL fixtures plus full FAC 4Q draw:

Sat 14th Oct

Farnborough v Hitchin Town
- saw 'boro - minus Jamie Cureton get hammered 2-6 at Cherrywood by Weymuff on Wed night

Was there for that, Curo was meant to have gone out on loan as he wants to play nearer home, but he played and scored for Boro at the weekend.

Heard a good story from a boro official that Curo just handed he wages straight back to the club last week, nice gesture.

...sorry bit late - some offspring-related complications chez FoCCers, over Sat/Sun night that knocked on a bit into Sun PM/Eve, that I needn't bore you all with :| ....

Sat 14th Oct

FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round

North Zone
01 F.C. Halifax Town 1-3 Tranmere Rovers
02 Solihull Moors 1-1 Ossett Town
03 South Shields 1-2 Hartlepool United
04 {SUN} Shaw Lane 2-1 Barrow
05 Chorley 0-0 Boston United
06 A.F.C. Telford 3-1 F.C. United of Manchester
07 Harrogate Town 1-2 Gainsborough Trinity
08 Nantwich Town 1-1 Kettering Town
09 Buxton 1-2 Gateshead
10 Guiseley 6-0 Shildon
11 A.F.C. Fylde 1-0 Wrexham
12 Kidderminster Harriers 2-0 Chester att 1896
- We made it to this – nice trouble free jaunt up the M5 – Chester from STEP01 were dreadful – Kiddy currently in the league below (STEP02 NAT-N) were neat, quick and won far more comfortably than the 2 goal margin might suggest. Fairly good Stadium layout – capacity is close to 6k with two large seated stands on either side and covered terracing at each end. Visitors were given half a terrace and one cordoned off section of one seated stand.

13 Scarborough Athletic 0-2 Hyde United
14 Stourbridge 0-5 Macclesfield Town

South Zone
15 Brackley Town 3-3 Billericay Town – Saints reduced to 10 men when 1-0 up close to H/T – ‘ricay then levelled early 2nd half – took the lead – were pegged back – led again, only for Brackley to snatch a replay on 89’. I’d expect them to have a tough time in the replay, bearing in mind how Billericay despatched Hungerford on their patch, in the previous round.

16 Dagenham & Redbridge 0-0 Leyton Orient
17 Eastleigh 1-2 Hereford
18 Aldershot Town 1-0 Torquay United
19 Bath City 0-0 Chelmsford City
20 Oxford City 1-0 Bognor Regis Town
21 Maidenhead United 2-1 Havant & Waterlooville
22 Haringey Borough 2-4 Heybridge Swifts
23 Woking 1-1 Concord Rangers
24 Hampton & Richmond Borough 0-2 Truro City
25 Dover Athletic 0-0 Bromley
26 Slough Town 1-0 Folkestone Invicta att 926 – and the FA STILL have Sluff listed as playing at SYCOB
27 Burgess Hill Town 0-1 Dartford
28 St. Albans City 1-3 Boreham Wood
29 Maidstone United 2-2 Enfield Town
30 Margate 1-2 Leatherhead
31 Paulton Rovers 2-3 Sutton United
32 East Thurrock United 0-0 Ebbsfleet United

{not sure how but missed these in the ‘Preview’ soz}
NAT-S
Chippenham Town 0-0 Wealdstone
Eastbourne Borough 0-2 Hemel Hempstead Town
Weston-super-Mare 0-2 Welling United
Whitehawk 0-3 Hungerford Towncomfortable win for Crusaders at bottom club - all three goals in the first 20’.

ILP
Dorking Wanderers 0-2 Leiston
Harlow Town 2-1 Harrow Borough
Staines Town 1-1 Dulwich Hamlet

SLP
Bishop's Stortford 2-0 Basingstoke Town
Dorchester Town 1-1 Chesham United ‘Generals’ have win snatched away on 92’
Farnborough 4-1 Hitchin Town –‘boro bounce back from heavy midweek defeat – trailed but were ahead by HT with goals from Cureton & Coles – added two more around the hour mark
SL1E
AFC Rushden & Diamonds 0-0 Egham Town
Ashford Town (Middx) 4-0 Hayes & Yeading United
Aylesbury United 1-0 Arlesey Town
Beaconsfield Town 2-4 Kempston Rovers – Rams beaten by PO rivals –have a somewhat warped record of form to date as they have lost 3 out 5 games @ Holloways Pk but won all 5 away

Cambridge City 4-2 Thame UnitedThame’s recent run of improving form comes to an end
Hanwell Town 2-0 Fleet Town
Hartley Wintney
1-1 Chalfont St Peter visitors grabbed a point on 88’ ‘The Row’ do have a game in hand on the leaders (Moneyfields)
Marlow 2-2 Barton Rovers
Moneyfields 5-2 Aylesbury
Uxbridge 0-1 AFC Dunstable
SL1W
Evesham United 0-2 Didcot Town - good result for Diddy at high-flying Evesham – claw themselves a bit closer to the top 5
Larkhall Athletic 1-1 Kidlington
North Leigh 1-1 Wimborne Town
Winchester City 1-2 Bristol Manor Farm – City succumb late on - visitors grab 2 inside the last 10’ and stay in 2nd place, behind Taunton who grabbed a good away win at Supermarine

CCLP
Balham 3-2 Knaphill
Bedfont Sports 5-3 Colliers Wood United
Camberley Town 1-1 Epsom & Ewell
CB Hounslow United 1-0 Redhill
Farnham Town 1-0 Abbey Rangers
Godalming Town 1-2 AFC Hayes
Hanworth Villa 2-1 Banstead Athletic
Horley Town 0-2 Walton & Hersham – good win for W&H at 3rd place Horley – they host leaders Westfield on Tue night, at their new home the Elmbridge Sports Hub next door to Walton Casuals. Pondering tackling the M3 tomorrow evening, to take this one in. Saw Casuals about 7 years ago on this site but the whole complex has been much upgraded and re-built with two full sized grounds adjacent to each other - much like Testwood Farm @ Totton where AFC and Totton & Eling adjoin.

North Greenford United 3-1 Guildford City
Sutton Common Rovers 2-1 Chertsey Town
Westfield
2-1 Spelthorne Sports
CCL1
AC London 1-0 Kensington Borough
Ash United 1-3 Sheerwater
Bagshot 0-2 Frimley Green
Bedfont & Feltham 1-2 Farleigh Rovers
Cobham 5-0 FC Deportivo Galicia
South Park Reserves P-P Fleet Spurs - visitors unable to raise an XI
Staines Lammas 3-1 Eversley & California
Worcester Park {SIX} 6-2 Chessington & Hook United

HELLP
Abingdon United 1-1 Tuffley Rovers
Ascot United 1-2 Brackley Town Saints
Brimscombe & Thrupp 3-0 Royal Wootton Bassett Town
Fairford Town 1-5 Highworth Town – visitors stay top now; 13 from 13
Flackwell Heath 1-3 Bracknell Town - good result for Robins at 2nd placed Heathens- I believe they may have had several absentees again this w/e too?
Lydney Town 1-0 Woodley United
Thatcham Town
0-0 Binfield
Wantage Town
5-0 Burnham
Windsor
3-1 Highmoor Ibis
FRI – Oxford City Nomads 5-1 Longlevens –minor shock here
HELL1E
Henley Town 1-2 Bicester Town
Holyport 3-2 AFC Aldermaston
Thame Rangers
1-0 Wokingham & Emmbrook late fixture change here – original listed visitors Sandhurst were in B&B Trophy action against an E.Berks League Slough-based (presumably Asian) Club: Frontline HRF

WESSP
Andover Town 5-3 Blackfield & Langley – att 265 great result and big crowd for a Wessex game at the Portway, as Town humble run-away leaders. Hosts draw level and have 2 games in hand have only dropped two points to date.

Bournemouth 1-2 Alresford Town
Petersfield Town 0-0 Lymington Town
WESS1
Alton 4-2 Verwood Town
Andover New Street 0-4 Ringwood Town
Downton 3-3 Whitchurch United
Tadley Calleva
3-2 Fawley

Abingdon 0-4 Windsor

Emphatic win - Interesting set up by Windsor last night with zero width against a team who only seemed interested in going out wide themselves. Whatever, it certainly worked as Abingdon posed little threat and little passion.

Bracknell 3 Wantage 0

Good win and a bit of revenge for Bracknell. Wantage had a man sent off for a 2 footed lunge that caused a bit of a mele and Bracknell were always on top after that. The 1st goal however, was given by the lino but my mate takes pictures at the club, and showed me concrete evidence that the ball never crossed the line! Oh well.. :D

Royal Rother Abingdon 0-4 Windsor

Emphatic win - Interesting set up by Windsor last night with zero width against a team who only seemed interested in going out wide themselves. Whatever, it certainly worked as Abingdon posed little threat and little passion.

...was lurking in the shadows at this  only decided on Northcourt at the last minute - when news of sh!te traffic over to the M3 t'other side of Bracknell filtered thru, as well as some reportedly iffy stuff up the A404(M) which put me off attempting Marlow/Flackwell or Hanwell
- had originally intended to go to the table topping clash in the CCLP at the new Elmbridge Hub (Walton-on-Thames) for W&H v Westfield
- thought it was good contest with Ab Utd struggling badly in the league but having a good go until they conceded that 2nd (& horrible og) just before H/T.

Other scores this midweek

FA Cup Replays
Billericay Town 2-1 Brackley Town :(
Concord Rangers 1-2 Woking aet
Bromley 3-0 Dover Athletic
Enfield Town 1-3 Maidstone Utd aet
Kettering 0-1 Nantwich
Leyton Orient 1-0 Dag & Red
Ebbsfleet 3-0 East Thurrock Utd
{MON} Chelmsford 1-0 Bath City

Bedford 1-1 Hartley Wintney
Egham 2-0 Aylesbury Utd
Hanwell 2-2 Cambridge City
Marlow 2-4 AFC R&D
SL1W
Bps Cleeve 1-2 Bideford - mention this as reportedly it became a bit of an epic due to issues on the M5 - the Devonians arrived about 20:20 - game KOd at around 20:50! :o
Winchester 1-1 Paulton Rovers

CCLP
Abbey Rgrs 1-1 SCR
Walton & Hersham 1-3 Westfield
D1 Cup
Cove 1-2 Bedfont & Feltham - first game that B&F have avoided defeat in this season, in 15 starts
Eversley & C 3-2 Bagshot

HELLP
{MON} Woodley Utd 2-1 Brackley Town Saints - useful three points for Woodley - lifts them out of the bottom four - vital considering both Ascot & H/I lost the folowing night.

3-0 Wantage Town
Flackwell Heath
1-0 Ascot Utd
Thatcham Town
2-1 HIghmoor/IBIS

Milton Utd 2-3 Wallingford Town

...also a Cup week in the Wessex with one noteworthy score - notwithstanding relative team strengths

Wessex League Cup
Andover New Street 1-0 Lymington Town - Town were up in 6th in the Premier and w/o delving too deeply into the darkest recesses of the Anorak, I'd reckon that's probably the first win for ANS over a top-flight club for many a year!

Ha! Didn’t know you were there of course but Terminal Boredom and I were talking about you in the 2nd half when in the happy Windsor gaggle behind the goal. You were referred to as “a legend”.

...too kind

...did actually clock 'big H' 8) in the bar @ HT but was chatting briefly to another 'local' hopper - well 'Aylesbury Dave' (Fulham supporter, that's when he's not at NL - which is virtually EVERY night - with notebook and stopwatch- now he really IS hardcore by my standards) - well known to other NL folk in the area, who tend to avoid him, as he has some peculiar foibles.
Being of an ultra-tolerant nature I usually try & be sociable and exchange pleasantries when I see him.

- I actually questioned whether this game really had been his first choice of the night ... and to my surprise - apparently it was.

Clubs in the South West Peninsula regularly hand out heavy beatings to Western Premier clubs when they meet in Cup & Vase - and THAT league is supposed to be pretty strong @ STEP05 in itself. What's more Parkway have a good record in the early rounds of the National Cups and sit top of the league with 100%

Flackwell Heath 2-5 Windsor.

Unfortunately I missed this one due to seeing Aussie Pink Floyd at Bournemouth (which was very enjoyable as it happens).

Superb and rather unexpected result.

If only we could be a little more consistent.

Sat 21st Oct

FA Vase 1st Round Proper

Zone 3
042 Hullbridge Sports 1-1 Colney Heath aet
043 {FRI} Holland 1-2 Great Wakering Rovers @ Clacton FC
044 Burnham Ramblers 0-1 Leighton Town
045 London Colney 4-4 Cogenhoe United
046 Basildon United 0-2 Biggleswade
047 {SUN} Enfield 1893 1-0 Coggeshall Town aet
- Was at this for my 2nd game of the PM; bit of an endurance test for even the most hardened follower of NL. Won at the very death by ‘hosts’ who’ve groundshared at the Harlow Arena a few years now
- Notable presence on the bench for the visitors was their main sponsor –a certain Olly Murs. He even had boots on but doubt he is part of the playing squad. Would expect Insurance considerations might be an issue 8)

048 Enfield Borough 4-2 Newmarket Town aet
049 Framlingham Town 2-0 Cockfosters
051 Norwich C.B.S. 1-0 Oxhey Jets
053 Welwyn Garden City 3-0 Takeley
054 Halstead Town 2-2 Tower Hamlets away win pens 5-6
055 Peterborough Northern Star 1-0 Baldock Town
056 Biggleswade United 0-1 Yaxley
057 {FRI} Crawley Gn 3-0 Harpenden Town
058 Wisbech Town 4-0 Felixstowe & Walton United - mid-table UCLP side stun runaway leaders of the Essex Senior League
059 {SUN} 13:00 F.C. Romania 2-0 Eynesbury Rovers
- Started the PM today here at Cheshunt – good open game which the slightly more flamboyant FCR eventually won. About 10 years since previous trip here; completely forgot how tucked away the ground is from the A10 – my SatNav hadn’t got a clue – probably put the wrong postcode in!
Zone 4
060 Edgware Town 1-3 Walton & Hersham
061 Haywards Heath Town 2-0 Camberley Town
062 Cobham 0-4 Westfield
063 Bracknell Town {SIX} 6-2 Buckingham Athletic att 232 Cornell hat-trick
064 Erith & Belvedere 2-2 Horley Town
065 Balham 1-3 Deal Town
066 Thatcham Town 2-1 Horsham Y.M.C.A. - 'Kingfishers' turn a 0-1 deficit around very late on: winner by sub Jemel Johnson
067 London Lions 3-2 Clapton
068 Sevenoaks Town 2-1 Longlevens
069 Broadbridge Heath 3-0 Kensington Borough -
- Got to this (just): considerable obstacles included having to get middle offspring to Youlbury nr Oxford for lunchtime. That coupled with some real b&$tard slow traffic on M25 from M4 down to jn 9 and beyond on southwardly A24 to Horsham, meant we arrived shortly after KO.
- Pretty non-descript ground much in the mould of Palmer Pk but with a longer lower seated stand and a nicer café facility inside the adjacent Leisure Centre. All sited next to a Superstore (Tesco) just off the A24 on western outskirts of Horsham
- Southern Combination leaguers beat their lower placed CCL1 visitors comfortably, in very gusty conditions.

070 Beckenham Town 2-0 Sawbridgeworth Town
071 Saltdean United 0-1 Whitstable Town
072 Cray Valley 3-1 Cricklewood Wanderers
073 Rusthall 2-7 {SEVEN} Epsom & Ewell
074 Canterbury City 4-3 K Sports
075 Royal Wootton Bassett Town 2-1 Ampthill Town
076 Spelthorne Sports 0-1 Lordswood
077 Sheppey United 2-1 Fisher
078 Erith Town 4-0 Pagham
079 Wembley 3-0 Broadfields United
080 Hanworth Villa 3-2 Three Bridges
081 Flackwell Heath 2-5 Windsor - consistency seems to be eluding many of the clubs in the upper reaches of the Hellenic Premier - Windsor now starting a good run though - will want a favourable draw and go next in the league at a very fragile Burnham on Tuesday followed by another trip back up to Wilks Pk next Sat, to face Heathens again - this time in the Bluefin Challenge Cup

082 Meridian V.P. 2-0 Hollands & Blair
Zone 5
083 Bodmin Town P-P Swanage Town & Herston
084 Odd Down 1-2 Tavistock

093 Baffins Milton Rovers 1-0 Radstock Town
094 Hengrove Athletic 4-2 Alton aet
095 Newport IoW 5-0 Bovey Tracey
096 Plymouth Parkway {SIX} 6-1 Sandhurst Town
097 Brockenhurst 2-1 Crediton United aet
098 Willand Rovers {SEVEN} 7-1 Street – embarrassing defeat for current Western Premier league leaders -match was poised at 1-1 on the hour mark

Fleet Town 2-0 Marlow bottom club stun Blues and climb above Arlesey

Attended this. My initial reluctance on hearing they do pdf programmes only ( ) were lifted by a warm welcome into the clubhouse. So much so I bought a half time draw ticket (I never do), which I promptly won. 8)

Game was completive and Fleet were much better than I expected. I can only assume they have player availability issues or they have a lot of new players. Their only other 3 point haul being a recent 6-0 win, the league position is a bit odd.

Marlow player sent of for biting an opponent in the calf during a goal mouth scramble

Winchester City are hanging on to a play off position despite some duff results lately. We seem to switch off in the last 10 mins, going from 1 up to 2-1 down inside the last 5 mins against Bristol Manor Farm and conceding a late equaliser against Paulton.

Never mind. Friday is the big one, S*lisbury at home. £5 on the gate with a Reading FC season ticket, if any of you fancy popping down. Similar discount for Saints and Eastleigh fans too.

We've had some big crowds on Friday evenings in the past, so we are pushing this one big time.

There is free parking, but with the wiltshire w@nkers in town, it will be busy. Get the train - the ground is about 15 mins walk from the station. I recommend the Albion and the Hyde Tavern for beer breaks en route. Avoid the Mucky Duck - Greene King - and the King Alfred - thinly disguised Greene King with a guest or two. And there is ale in the clubhouse too.
