With the station at Green Park now being open, the number of people using the buses (especially to the town centre) would probably fall anyway.

F1 bus return is now £5.50. Off-peak day return from Reading Main to Reading Green Park is £3.10.

14:37 gets you to Green Park for 14:44. It's 14 minutes walk to the Megastore from the station. Or you can play it safe and get the 14:07.
There's a train at 17:14, which depending on stoppage time, might be doable, and you're back in Reading before half-five.

I'd always thought that they are doing timekeeping this way, it turns out it was worth a player walking slowly off the pitch, feigning injury, arguing about getting sent off and extending goal celebrations if they were only adding a nominal amount.

Just to join the mega moan, the f*cking bus service have put their prices up by 2 quid on returns. It's now 7.50 return from Mereoak.
Bloody robbery.

Would suggest walking from Mereoak if you can. You can still park there without charge. Been doing it for 2 seasons now.

Incidentally they did cut the service last season to 2 buses so many were late getting to games and massive queues were forming at Mereoak.

Makes even more sense for evening games when the Nags etc don't run buses. 19:25 train will have you outside the Megastore at 19:50. And there's return trains at 21:49, 22:32 and 22:56.
