Forgot to say, that Southampton penalty earlier was one of the worst on target pens I have seen. Literally put in the ultimate place for a goalkeeper to save, he just got very lucky it was pushed back out to him.

If i was his manager I'd be taking pens away from him.

Steve Cooper has managed 67 Premier League games and only won at 4 grounds

All through the Klopp era, Liverpool managed to eek out some leads at the top, a couple of points here or there, or where the gap was larger, it was where City or Arsenal had games in hand.

Now though, it's a 'real' eight points. Very much in their hands now. Beat City at Anfield next week and things start to look very, very good indeed. If I were Slot, I'd probably look at some rotation for the next two CL games, at home to Madrid, and away at Girona.

Amorim must already be wondering what he had taken on. A team that plays with 50% of the energy of the players he has left behind in Lisbon. At a press conference an English journalist berated him for preferring to speak in Portugese, and after the game last night his interview on Sky Sports gets interrupted by Ed Sheeran.

Arne has done something quite amazing and while the squad is actually all Klopp’s (except what is currently the pointless signing of Chiesa) he’s just tweaked a few bits to make them better than where Klopp was going with them. Looks like they’ve gone out and got a better manager, all depends now where he goes with it and whether the notoriously tight penny pinching owners will back him in the transfer windows.

And Salah must be up for the Ballon d’Or next time round esp. given his sheer consistency over the last few seasons.

All that said there’s always a feeling about Liverpool that they’re the most likely to pick up dodgy results in the league when it starts really mattering, if Slot can eradicate that weakness then Liverpool could be about start something even better than Klopp’s journey.

Moronically stupid media again, he’s only been in the country a week

Sky being ******** again, no respect shown on a sports programme to a manager. Someone should have stopped Sheeran before he got over to them and told him to **** off.

So like yesterday then?

BTW if Salah is ever recognised by Ballon d'or voters I hope he and Liverpool (if they extend him) can show just a tad more humility than City did with Rodri at the weekend

Salah - 'Well, we are almost in December, I haven't received any offer to stay at the club, so I'm probably more out than in. I've been at the club for many years, there is no club like this, but it is out of my hands.'

This is utter madness by FSG.

Seems an uneasy relationship between the fans and FSG, and this piddling about over his (and the Trent & Virgil) contract really isn't going to help their perception that FSG are hopeless tightwads that really make life difficult for the club to actually win things.

Does seem quite mad, and with 1 month to go before he can talk to other clubs to agree a free transfer, I guess the lack of offer (if true) is a strong message from Liverpool.

I wonder if he is playing games a bit and the 'no offer from Liverpool' is in reality more of a 'no offer from Liverpool that satisfies what I want'.

Clubs used to have strong rules on contracts for over 30's, but players look after themselves better now and play on for longer. And he is their best player by miles!

The only one I am willing to allow is Trent Alexander-Arnold. 1) I think he might be the only Trent playing at a professional level in England (?) and 2) it's just easier than saying/typing his very long surname.

Mo's record at Liverpool is crazy!

I don't think they expected such a jump from averaging 12-15 goals to 44 in his first season

'Jack' is the worst one. Anyone saying it deserves to be banned from talking about football ever again

Don’t know why everyone still goes on about contracts. As we know, after the earlier court ruling, they ALL now mean diddly squat.
