Sutekh
Clyde1998 Wrexham away

EDIT: Full draw:
  • Port Vale (3) v Arsenal (1; CL)
  • Swansea City (2) v Nottingham Forest (1; EL)
  • Lincoln City (3) v Chelsea (1; CL)
  • Tottenham Hotspur (1; CL) v Doncaster Rovers (3)
  • Brentford (1) v Aston Villa (1; EL)
  • Huddersfield Town (3) v Manchester City (1; CL)
  • Liverpool (1; CL) v Southampton (2)
  • Newcastle United (1; CL) v Bradford City (3)
  • Sheffield Wednesday (2) v Grimsby Town (4)
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers (1) v Everton (1)
  • Crystal Palace (1) v Millwall (2)
  • Burnley (1) v Cardiff City (3)
  • Wrexham (2) v Reading (3)
  • Wigan Athletic (3) v Wycombe Wanderers (3)
  • Barnsley (3) v Brighton & Hove Albion (1)
  • Fulham (1) v Cambridge United (3)

Well that’s certainly the expected damp squib of a draw.

Think I'd have preferred Swansea at home

Disagree with all the negativity on the draw - a tie against a struggling championship side who will be focussed on the league is a great result.

Interesting only 5 champ sides left compared to 11 from div 1/2.

Great chance to progress a long way.

Do you think we will go with a stronger team or stick with the Cup squad that has got us this far?

Or has our "cup team" proved stronger so far?

Yeah, this. And once all the glamorous PL sides had been drawn, it was the most appealing fixture left. Still a chance it gets televised too. Anyway probably IN!

Perhaps not according to this from Twitter -

Apparently someone played for Plymouth this week who'd played for another team in the previous round

I don’t now what that strongest team is at the moment. There is still some way to go before even Noel knows what that is. It isn’t a criticism or complaint, it is just where we are.

Agree. We've the makings of a solid squad, twenty odd players that can do the job, but working out who's best in which slot while keeping some semblance of balance ...

Related - feels like we've not got anyone that can really change a game or do the unexpected.

Hmm. Surely Wing fits that category. But if you mean from the bench, yeah - I see a lot of solid like-for-likes which is great. But maybe not a wild spark that you can’t wait to see come on. Perhaps that will come from our academy (such sparks tend to be weak enough not to start, but have the raw flair that makes them a good punt late game).

For now, happy enough with having the sort of depth that can maintain a performance.

Disagree. Wing has shown many times he can do it, and the ability is obviously there in the likes of Lane, Kyerewaa and Doyle; they're all just currently bedding in and getting up to fitness in Lane's case.

I'll take Wing (when the formation doesn't neuter him), but other than that ... yeah. Bunch of players that have contributed ... 1 assist ... ? so far.

Yup, pretty much this. And, yes, if you take the two posts together, you'll see I'm pretty happy with the squad.

Only exception is that I also don't really see it from any of our academy players either. But that's a thought for another day.

Ehibhatiomhan does it perhaps twice a season. If we can get consistency out of him he's an academy player who can change the game in a moment.

Yes - they've very much put out second 11's in the cup to date, and with the break coming up they have only 2 games until then so will likely be towards the bottom still so may put out a second 11 again....but I guess if they spend more before the window closes their second 11 may be strong anyway.

I think the vast majority is clear.

GK: Pereira
RB: not a question of who is good enough, two equally capable players who can share the load
CB: O'Connor
CB: Williams
DM: Wing
CM: Savage
AM Elliott
RW: Lane

Dear Christ, this place.

Ehibhatiomhan does it perhaps twice a season. If we can get consistency out of him he's an academy player who can change the game in a moment.

First, yes. He has the talent but too often fails to deliver.
Second, sure. What improvement in consistency do you think we need? Spit ball me some figures.

I think the vast majority is clear.

Lists 7 players (out of 11), one of whom has started a solitary league game for us this season.
