I was at that game I think it was John Alexander who broke his leg. Not sure if he ever played again after that.

I remember vaguely being taken by my father around 1948, Tony McPhee was the cf. Can not
remember the opposition. First game that sticks in my memory was Plymouth 1952-53 season.
Elm Park overflowing. The other well remembered game was against man u in the cup.
Drew 1-1 at Elm Park, Wally Hinshelwood missed a sitter that would have made it 2-1.
Reading's goal was an og courtesy of Allenby Chilton.
