The whole MO over there is say something "controversial" early, stick to that line - in this case - Hunt is shit and must be sacked immediately - keep hold of that line consistently irrespective of what may or may not actually happen, so that you can revel in being right, first.
So of course when the reserves/youth essentially fail to win 17-0 and look like a team that have barely played together, which they are - it proves beyond doubt how right they are.
It's dull, which is why only about 10 people actively post on the hashtag.
Notwithstanding whatever is said on Twitter the team starting the game on Tuesday was hardly a reserves/ youth team.
Nearly all have played first team football and it was only very late on that a few novices came on so our line-up was , unlike the opposition, a long way from being an experimental youth team.
Because of that we might have expected a bit more.
The big problem is that we have a squad of 20 odd players who are much of a muchness with so few standout performers even for 3rd division football.
Surely a “reserve team” is one that by definition isnt first choice regardless of whether they’ve played first team games or not. Yiadom and possibly Elliott aside that was absolutely a reserve team.
It wasn’t the team of kids we’ve played in this competition in previous years for sure but it was absolutely a reserve team from goalkeeper , the centre halves , the central midfielders onwards.
Where I do agree with you is that we have arguably the biggest squad we’ve had in a couple of years and I’ve never thought that particularly helpful.
